LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: HBO Max is all set to roll out its new political drama series ‘The Girls on the Bus’. Created by Amy Chozick and Julie Plec, the show has been the talk of the town and has garnered much attention, especially considering how it's loosely based on a true story.

With a cast including Melissa Benoist, Natasha Behnam, Christina Elmore, Brandon Scott, and Carla Gugino, anticipation mounts for the debut of ‘The Girls on the Bus’.

However, here's everything you've been waiting to learn about the show.

‘The Girls on the Bus’ is partially inspired by Amy Chozick’s memoir ‘Chasing Hillary’

For the unversed, ‘The Girls on the Bus’ follows the journey of female journalists on the campaign trail, aiming to witness the historic election of the first female president.

Inspired by Amy Chozick’s memoir 'Chasing Hillary' from 2018, the political drama draws from her experiences aboard Hillary Clinton’s campaign bus during the 2008 and 2016 presidential races.

Recent interviews with the creators of ‘The Girls On The Bus’ revealed that while the show is inspired by Chozick’s memoir 'Chasing Hillary', they only used one chapter's content, not the entire book.

This clarifies that ‘The Girls On The Bus’ is not entirely based on a true story and is not specifically centered around Hillary Clinton.
