CLEVELAND, OHIO: A fitness celebrity has criticized Logan Paul's and KSI's foray into hydration drinks with Prime as their "most successful scam yet" and called it a “rip off.”

Since its early 2022 launch by long-time competitors Logan Paul and KSI, Prime has experienced tremendous success.

It serves as the official hydration sponsor for FC Barcelona, and it has also sponsored MMA competitors like Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski. Additionally, Prime holds the status of the official partner for both the UFC and Arsenal FC.

However, one fitness influencer has come forward to criticize the drink as the supply is rapidly depleting.

Is PIME hydration a scam?

The fastest-growing online personal trainer in the world, James Smith, has criticized Prime for failing to provide customers with enough rehydration.

James, a diet culture critic known for debunking harmful beliefs, recently posted a seven-minute video explaining why he thinks Logan Paul and KSI "don't even understand hydration."

James described the function of a rehydration drink is to restore the body's water and salt, or sodium, to help people comprehend how dehydration happens and why Prime is allegedly not the cure.

Both are lost after prolonged exercise because the body sweats to control temperature.

He highlighted the importance of a good electrolyte drink and said, “If you’re partaking in a sport [where you] lose loads of water and loads of salt [and you] replenish with just water, over time you’re going to create a negative balance of sodium.”

Is PRIME good for athletes?

James went on to explain that the important electrolyte kinds are sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. The most critical nutrient to replace during exercising is salt, even though others are lost to some degree through perspiration.

The electrolyte composition of Prime, which only contains 5 mg of sodium, is made up of an astonishing 700 mg of potassium. In contrast, the sodium and potassium content of a competing brand like Powerade is 168 mg and 200 mg, respectively.

James questioned, “So understanding that when we sweat we lose mostly water and salt, which one of these two, [Prime of Powerade], do you think is going to be superior when it comes to replenishing the sodium that you’re losing?”

The fact that Prime has far less sugar than other drinks is another benefit of the product. For instance, Paul stated in one TikTok that Gatorade had 17 times more sugar than Prime, which only has 2 grams.

However, Smith asserted that yet another piece of "science" disproved Prime's superiority by demonstrating how quickly glucose transports electrolytes into circulation.

“When it comes to rapid rehydration, which would be your preference if you’re in a sporting environment, glucose would be a good thing,” Smith mentioned in his video.
