Is Fortnite star Clix permanently banned on Twitch? 'Free clix' trends as fans slam third suspension
Just hours after a successful day of competition in the 2021 Fortnight Champion Series, it looks like NRG's Cody 'Clix' Conrod has been banned on Twitch for the third time. The Fortnite star reported that this time it is a “perma-ban”.
On February 15, 2021, merely hours after an "amazing stream", the Fortnight star who is one of the biggest names in streaming with tens of thousands of viewers, was shut off from the leading live streaming platform for the third time.

Clix, who had just recently earned more than 3.5M followers on Twitch, was first banned in November 2019 after streaming with 'Zayn', a player who is permanently banned from Twitch. His second strike came more recently in November 2020, as he became one of the big streamers hit in a major Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) ban wave, according to reports. Others who were a part of this takedown were JakeNBake, LIRIK and Pokimane.
According to the latest reports, Clix's latest ban comes as a result of accidentally broadcasting explicit content. The account StreamerBans shared the news on Twitter. "Twitch Partner "Clix" (@MaloGraphy) has been banned!" the update read. Soon afterwards, even Clix took to Twitter to share the news. "Bro, what the fuck, I’m banned on Twitch."

For Clix, the ban came as a rude shock because just four months ago in October, he was exclusively signed with the platform. In addition to that, he had just finished first in week one of the 2021 FNCS tournament. "Amazing stream today," the streamer tweeted three hours before the ban. "Peaked at 108k viewers fucking nuts. Love you guys, played insane today. Appreciate any new followers/subs today."

Does this mean that he is permanently banned from the portal? Due to it being his third strike on the platform, the latest reports reveal that it could be his permanent removal from the site. "Perma ban… on everything I love,” the streamer added with a screenshot confirming that the suspension is indefinite. “Your suspension will not be automatically lifted,” a message from Twitch explained. “Access to our services may only be restored upon successful appeal."
But it looks like NRG, the organization that Clix is associated with, is already looking into making that successful appeal. NRG CEO Andy Miller was also initially shocked about the supposed permanent ban and even expressed this when he took to Twitter to assure the streamer that the organization will get things under control. He tweeted back to Clix just moments after the news broke out and said, “We on it!"
At the moment, nothing can be said in regard to if and when Clix will have complete access to his account. NRG might be looking into making an appeal, but since it is the third time banning Clix's channel, the process could take some time. Soon, the hashtag #freeclix started trending on the social media site as many fans took to resist the ban. "wow i can't believe #freeclix is #1 on trending, thank you guys for the insane support and hopefully I somehow get unbanned soon," Clix thanked his followers.

Users took to pointing out how female streamers can get away with showing their bodies but the gamer is banned for apparent broadcasting explicit content, with many deeming it sexist. "imagine banning click for something he accidentally did but then not banning females that do this #freeclix till it’s backwards," one tweeted. "this girls titties was the same size as rons ass crack cmon twitch #freeclix," another fan tweeted. "Twitch is really a sexist app. Unbelievable. #FreeClix."
