LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: LeBron James had to be held back by security after he nearly confronted a fan who insulted his receding hairline. Social media rallied around to react to the provocation at the game. The heckling took place on Tuesday, January 24, during the Lakers-Clippers game. The man began taunting the basketball player from the courtside at halftime with the Lakers down 77-54 while James was on his way to the tunnel in Crypto.com Arena.

The heckler, who appeared to have been seated on the floor, shouted, “Hey, Bron! Hey Bron! “You better get this s*** together! With that receding-a– hairline!" and he continued to provoke the 38-year-old star as he said, “Look, he's mad! Look at him! You sick!.” As soon as James heard the man, he stopped in his tracks staring in the heckler's direction. Before he was provoked to act against the man, James was stopped by a security guard. In another footage of the incident, Lakers center Thomas Bryant and point guard Russell Westbrook were seen standing near the angry player and it is unclear whether the heckler was removed from the game or confronted by security.

Though the Lakers lost to the Clippers, 133-115, and on the season dropped to 22-26, the player finished the contest with 46 points. Becoming the first player to score 40 points against the league's each team, James made history at the game against Clippers on Tuesday.

'Looked like he was about to throw some hands'

Following the incident at the game, the Internet went divided on reacting to the man's insult and also at James' being held back by the security. One social media user wrote, "That would be the very first and last time that guy ever got a billionaire's attention," and another wrote, "No way this guy felt proud to talk like this." One user wrote, "That laugh from the heckler is disgusting."

"Doing this is embarrassing already but posting it is something else," someone remarked while a user tweeted, "What if someone came into his place of work yelling at and bashing him?" Another user wrote, "I despise these types of people. They know LeBron can't do anything in those circumstances so they see it as an opportunity to do this."

Commenting on LeBron's reaction, a user tweeted, "LeBron looked like he was about to throw some hands," while another remarked, "Man LeBron is a little too sensitive. You’re the self-proclaimed greatest ever. You won the game. You’ve got a billion dollars and your balding, can’t have it all. Was it cool to say? No. Did he break any laws, speak of his family, or do anything awful no. Guys a zero to Bron."

"If you’re going to be in the public eye then you’re gonna have to learn to handle criticism. Can’t handle it then get out," a user opined while another wrote, "He wouldn’t do that if there wasn’t security there," and someone wrote, "There's no way y'all seriously think LeBron would've fought this random dude Lmfao"
