NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Tennessee lieutenant governor Randy McNally, 79, allegedly caught under fury for engaging with gay and trans thirst traps on Instagram just weeks before signing a drag ban bill. McNally responded to several posts from performer Franklyn McClur, 20, leaving comments like “Super Look Finn” and “You need to be on dancing with the stars,” with scores of expressive emojis.

On one of McClur’s Instagram pictures showing the performer's bottom, McNally wrote, “Finn, you can turn a rainy day into rainbows and sunshine!” However, McNally’s team responded to his love of social media. “As anyone in Tennessee politics knows, Lt Governor McNally is a prolific social media commenter,” VICE News quoted McNally spokesperson Adam Kleinheider as saying. “He takes great pains to view every post he can and frequently posts encouraging things to many of his followers."

"Does he always use the proper emoji at the proper time? Maybe not. But he enjoys interacting with constituents and Tennesseans of all religions, backgrounds, and orientations on social media. He has no intention of stopping," Kleinheider told the outlet. “Trying to imply something sinister or inappropriate about a great-grandfather’s use of social media says more about the mind of the left-wing operative making the implication than it does about Randy McNally."

McClur also spoke of his accord about McNally and his friendship saying, the pair became friends through Facebook mutuals years ago. “I just thought he was older and out of touch. I’ve always taken it as a compliment. I don’t dislike him or think he’s a bad person, he’s one of the only people who has consistently uplifted me and made me feel good,” McClur said. However, when asked about his political view, McClur said he's not a political person but added, "It’s wrong to ban drag, wrong to ban anything that isn’t hurting anyone. I don’t support hate of any kind."

Who is Tennessee Randy McNally's wife?

The Tennessee Lt Governor McNally is married to Janice McNally. The pair share two daughters Melissa and Maggie and three grandchildren, Haley, Morgan and Trent, according to Capitol.tn.gov. Moreover, when a reporter asked McNally's view after he previously sponsored legislation to ban same-sex marriage. He added that he supported the legislation before the Supreme Court’s 2015 decision in Obergefell v Hodges in favor of same-sex marriage. “I thought marriage should be between a man and a woman, and I still feel that way,” said McNally.

'Banned drag shows for Kids!'

Internet users had mixed reactions to McNally's biased social media presence. One user wrote, "Perfect example of #GOPHypocrisy." Another claimed, "It's possible to support ones freedom of choice while being against the display of said choices around impressionable children." A third chimed, "Banned drag shows for Kids. He can f**k the thirst traps, if he wants he is an adult. The line is sexualising Kids, but you all know that." "Ya drag shows for kids and him being gay asf are two different things you pervert," read a comment.
