NBC Universal's streaming service Peacock is bringing Ross Geller from Friends back to your screens. Only this time, David Schwimmer is a lot less Ross Geller and a lot more Michael Scott of 'The Office'.

'Intelligence' is coming to the streaming service Peacock on July 15, 2020 and stars David Schwimmer as Jerry Bernstein, a pompous NSA agent from America sent to act as a liaison at the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters. National security is no joke, but in the upcoming sitcom, the inner workings of a security agency sure seem to be hilarious. Jerry not only brings his decades-long expertise in stopping crime but also brings instability and chaos to the eccentric group of employees.

What is workplace comedy without the concept of competition? No sooner than he arrives at the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) he gets himself tangled up in a weird power struggle with the headstrong Christine Clark (Sylvestra Le Touzel), the head of the organization. Jerry's very American methods are not all that welcome here. According to the official synopsis of the show, upon arrival, he manages to "quickly antagonize the unit's chief with his brash style and tendency to try to take over". The ensuing power struggle is one to watch out for because we haven't seen Schwimmer play one since Ross Geller tried to one-up Mark Robinson (Steven Eckholdt) on 'Friends'.

The GCHQ houses some of the finest pioneers of cybersecurity tackling international and domestic Cyber Crime and stopping human trafficking. Among them, Jerry seems like quite the oddball. Perhaps that is what makes the "weedier, geekier, more bureaucratic version of MI5 and MI6" funny (at least from the looks of the trailer). As most workplace sitcoms go, Jerry has a sidekick in the inept and tactless computer analyst Joseph (Nick Mohammed), who is by his side as he attempts to fight cybercrime and more.

But there is more. Gana Bayarsaikhan stars as the genius hacker Tuva Olsen, who now uses her skills to help the law apprehend criminals. Jane Stanness stars as Mary, a member of Clark's team.

The workplace comedy is created and written by Nick Mohammed and directed by Matt Lipsey whereas Charlie Leech serves as producer.

'Intelligence' will be available to stream on Peacock, NBCUniversal's latest streaming service, on July 15, 2020. You can watch the trailer here.
