LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Leah Remini and Kirstie Alley allegedly never had a friendly relationship. They have reportedly been making headlines over their feuds at different junctures of their life for over a decade. The fight emerged between the duo after Remini left Scientology church in 2013, reported US Magazine.

Meanwhile, the 'Cheers' actress died on Monday, December 5, at 71, after a short battle with cancer. Her family stated, "To all our friends, far and wide around the world…We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce, and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered."

Scientology feud

The duo allegedly began fighting over religion in 2013, soon after Remini left Scientology church and even called it a "truly evil organization." Both Kirstie and Remini were great friends at a point. However, things allegedly changed after Remini left the religion and also made claims about the church and its leader, David Miscavige. This included Remini filing a missing case on David's wife who has not been seen on public platforms since 2007. Kirstie calling out Remini's claims stated, "I think the most repulsive thing a person can do is attack another person's faith. So when you decide to blanket statement 'Scientology is evil' you are my enemy. I just won't have people in my life that are [like] that. I just think it's really wrong," reported US Magazine

Over this feud, Kirstie allegedly has also ended the relationship with some of her friends including 'Dancing With the Stars’ Maksim Chmerkovskiy who also shared a good bond with Remini. He said on 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,' “She stopped getting along with me. I think the world of her. I’m not judging people by their religion. … I’m Jewish, and you know, I don’t really believe in science fiction, but whatever. We had a great relationship.” He also added, “Scientology happened. You can thank Leah Remini for that. A note was sent to a friend telling me I was ‘disconnected,’ as in, I am no longer allowed to be Kirstie’s friend. I find it ridiculous for an adult human being to ‘disconnect’ from someone. But everyone is entitled to their own insanity," he told US Magazine.

Kirstie also told Howard Stern in 2015, “She left the religion, and she was very critical. That’s just sort of water under the bridge. There’s nothing going on and there was nothing going on for years. I didn’t shun her, but if a lot of people are rejecting you, at some point, you gotta ask, ‘What am I doing?’ I mean, that’s what I would have asked myself.” Remini further stated, “I know the policy. I understand that hiding behind, you know, religious bigotry is the route to go,” she said. “I know why she thinks she’s angry with me, and I know, again, hiding behind that veil is something that is per policy. They see me as an enemy. If I did [see Kirstie] I wouldn’t say anything because I know she couldn’t talk to me. I’m shunned. She couldn’t talk to me.” In 2020, a former Scientologist, Tony Ortega claimed, “Kirstie tries to discredit Leah at every opportunity,” the Underground Bunker blogger told US Magazine. “Leah is a very big problem for the church and for Kirstie. She just isn’t going away. Kirstie has been given permission to attack [Leah’s claims].”

Russia- Ukraine War

During the Russia- Ukraine war, Kirstine allegedly tweeted, "I don't know what's real or what is fake in this war. So I won't be commenting. I'll pray instead," which she deleted later. To which Remini tweeted, "So @kirstiealley can comment on things she knows nothing about like mental health, psychiatric drugs, and virology, but she won't comment on Putin who is an evil tyrant? No comment about Russia invading Ukraine? The killing of innocent people? The displacement of Ukrainians?"

She then added, "She has no comment on these crimes against humanity? But she's going to pray? Scientology, her "religion", says Christ is a pedophile and a lie. Scientologists aren't allowed to believe in anything else other than Scientology. So who is she praying to?" She also wrote, "I don't like to make a habit of engaging with people like @kirstiealley...but Scientology banks on its horrific, criminal policies not being called out. Scientology thrives when people are silent. I won't allow their threats to me or anyone else go un-answered," as per US Magazine.

As a response, Kirstine tweeted, "Almost time to take off the gloves. I have a [courtesy] policy to not publicly reveal secrets about other celebs, but I'm done with the public lies and covert jabs. And not so covert." In a follow-up tweet, as per US Weekly, she said, "Don't get too excited," she added in a follow-up tweet, "there are only two... but two too many never the less. One shoots her mouth off and has an IQ of about 75 and the other one like you to think he's a hero .. gotta plot this out." Leah Remini then claimed, "1. Sophomoric, vitriolic, and all around hateful Scientologist @kirstiealley is getting ready to “plot out” Scientology’s Fair Game tactics on another celebrity who dares to expose abuses. Didn’t Kirstie just claim publicly that she prays to a God?"

In another tweet, Remini claimed, "You feeling froggy @kirstiealley ? Leap then…by all means. Give up those secrets on others in an attempt to destroy people. It’s Sunday, time to do Gods work right? Stop playing. Get to work, hon. You just keep proving who you and your cult really are." However, Kirstine responded stating, "I don't care what the punk a** t**** say. I believe in the power of prayer," Alley then continued, "I will continue to pray for the people of Ukraine. Putin is a c**t and a coward and I'll pray his own soldiers refuse to do his dirty work. PS, I pray to the same God you do. So get over your nasty selves," as per the news outlet.
