LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The late actor Lance Reddick's wife Stephanie Reddick (née Day) lived a simple and unassuming life with him for almost 25 years before his untimely death at the age of 60. Their 2011 wedding in Minnesota was in line with their modest lifestyle, and took place over 12 years after they first met at a theater. Despite his success in Hollywood, including in blockbusters like 'John Wick 4', Reddick remained down-to-earth in his relationship with his spouse.

After receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama, Lance joined the theater where his future wife worked and landed a role five years later. In 2001, he gained widespread recognition after being cast in 'The Wire', and he starred in all 60 episodes alongside top-billed actors such as Dominic West and Idris Elba. Despite his success in Hollywood, Lance managed to maintain a private family life.

Stephanie and Reddick's love story began when they met in 1999. Stephanie was working at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Lance was starring in a play. Twelve years later, the couple tied the knot in Stephanie's home state, Minnesota, in 2011. Stephanie revealed to Mpls.St.Paul Magazine that they did everything at Bar Lurcat in Minneapolis, from the ceremony to the reception, so guests wouldn't have to move around too much. "We actually changed the date of the wedding just so we could have it there," she said.

Stephanie also shared details about her wedding dress, which Lance picked up at the post office for $250, including shipping. "It fit perfectly," she said. Her favorite moment of the wedding day was when her mother saw her in the dress and started crying. Stephanie and Lance have maintained a private relationship, and although their children are not usually seen on the red carpet, Stephanie has been a constant presence at Lance's side. The couple didn't have children together, but Stephanie likely played a role in raising Lance's two kids, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick, whom he had with his first wife, Suzanne Yvonne Louis.

Who is his first wife?

Lance Reddick’s first wife was Suzanne Yvonne Louis-Reddick, who worked as a jewelry designer. They were married in 1986 and had two children, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Alexander Reddick. However, they divorced, and Suzanne went on to have a child with Karl Meie named Kaiya Dane Meier. Tragically, Suzanne suffered a heart attack in late 2011 and slipped into a coma from which she never recovered. She passed away shortly afterward. Lance spoke about his loss in a 2012 interview with Strombo, saying, “It made me realize that I always have to keep in front of me why I’m doing this… sometimes you forget that we’re mortal.”
