Spoilers for 'In the Dark' Season 2 Episode 3 'Son of a Gun'

This week's episode of 'In the Dark' on The CW had a lot going on, but what caught fans' interest was that Murphy Mason's (Perry Mattfeld) boss, friend and now co-conspirator, Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz) bought a gun, which would lead to the death of their newest employee, Ben (Chris Perfetti), sometime in the future.

In the episode, we saw Felix meeting Nia Bailey's (Nicki Micheaux) henchwoman and he is quite terrified as both Nia's henchwoman and the viewers can see. In a bid to protect himself, Felix then sneaks into his parents' home and steals his father's gun.

The next time he meets Nia's henchwoman, he is less jumpy — as she herself notes. Felix may be happy about his progress now, but flashforwards to the future reveal Ben lying in a pool of his blood as someone drops Felix's father's gun.

While Ben's death does not leave us feeling sad — he is possibly the world's worst employee and he also tries to use Felix's crush on his sister Chelsea (Lindsey Broad) to his own advantage — we wonder what could have led to his untimely death.

Fans wondered whether Felix was turning dark and even played with puns referring to the 'X-Men' franchise's 'Dark Phoenix' story. A viewer tweeted, "Dark Felix is RISING!!! #IntheDark," while another wrote, "I am fire and life and incarnate! Now and forever I am Felix! #IntheDark."

One fan tweeted, "Hopefully Felix doesn't learn the hard way that guns do more harm than good. #InTheDark," while another tweeted, "I can’t deal with Felix #inthedark."

Another viewer wrote, "Jeez Felix, I know he’s a bad employee but you ain’t gotta kill him. #IntheDark," while one viewer opined, "So they're going to just pop in whenever because the guy they hired to watch the front is an idiot who will let anyone in, but will keep his job due to Felix wanting to bang his sister #InTheDark."

Fans were reminded of 'Rookie Blue' — a Canadian police drama television series starring Missy Peregrym and Gregory Smith — after a couple of actors from the series popped up in 'In the Dark'. A fan wrote, "Max and Murphy sitting by the lake in the exact spot Sam and Andy got engaged? me? triggered? YOU BETCHA #RookieBlue #InTheDark."

Another tweeted, " I forgot to mention it but Father Jean Pierre showed up as well and obviously Duncan Moore so clearly this show was meant for my Rookie Blue loving heart #InTheDark."

'In the Dark' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c.
