Who is Tim Bliefnick? Police search house of murdered mom Rebecca Bliefnick's estranged husband
QUINCY, ILLINOIS: Police raided the home of the estranged husband of an Illinois mom, Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, who was shot dead in her Quincy home. Officers swarmed into 39-year-old Tim Bliefnick's Hampshire Street rental home, which is barely a mile from Rebecca's property on Kentucky Road, around eight in the morning on Wednesday, March 1.
Business developer Bliefnick reportedly turned in his car and keys to his rented home and was "very cooperative" with police, as per the sources. According to Muddy River News, Bliefnick was detained by cops outside the building and later escorted to a relative's home after they spoke to him. Rebecca was discovered dead from numerous gunshot wounds after a family member grew concerned for her when she failed to picked up her three children from their school — St. Peter School in Quincy — on February 23, according to the Quincy Police Department, Daily Mail reported.

'No arrests have been made'
Quincy Police confirmed that they raided the home and someone was "briefly held" before being released. "As part of the warrant service, an individual was temporarily detained in the 2000 block of Hampshire and released," police said in a statement Wednesday. "No arrests have been made related to this investigation." They emphasized that no one has been taken into custody in relation to the murder, and they have not requested any arrest warrant. "During a criminal investigation, it is not unusual to obtain and serve numerous search warrants for a variety of reasons," police said. "Search warrants are a normal part of the investigative process." It is unknown who was held by the police.
Tim's attorney 'welcomes' the raid
In a statement, his attorney stated that she supported the search and that it was crucial to rule her client out so that the inquiry could shift its attention elsewhere. "Given the circumstances, it is not surprising that the search warrant was issued and executed," said the lawyer, Casey Schnack. "My only surprise is that it took this long to do."
Schnack told Fox News that she was anticipating an inventory of the things confiscated and that police had finished their search. "Right now, Tim's immediate focus is on the boys," she further added. The estranged couple had three kids together who is now living with their father for the past one week.
After Rebecca, a nurse, did not pick up her three boys from school, worried family members called the police. Police rushed to her residence at 3:32 PM and have stayed there ever since, clearing the premises of potentially useful evidence. According to Police Chief Adam Yates, such a violent crime is "unusual" in the small town of barely 40,000 people.
