MOSCOW, IDAHO: The mystery behind the Idaho murders is deepening with each passing day as investigators have yet to identify a suspect in the sensational case. Four University of Idaho students were stabbed to death in the early hours of November 13 as they slept in their rented house near the campus.

The victims were identified as Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. Now, an expert has shared that there are chances that the killer(s) “might have had some bruises or cuts” on their body since it has been revealed that some of the slain students sustained defense injuries. Joseph Giacalone, a John Jay College of Criminal Justice professor and retired NYPD sergeant, reportedly suggests that the victims may have left some wound marks on the killer while trying to save themselves.

Giacalone also asserted that a reward announcement could help crack the case that has shocked the entire country. He told Fox News Digital, “The idea behind the reward is putting it out initially because you're looking for somebody specific, who came home for the holidays and who might have had some bruises or cuts or some other thing. The uncle who doesn't like everybody is sitting at the Thanksgiving table and looking at the kid saying, ‘Something’s wrong here.’”

However, police spokeswoman Robbie Johnson defended the cops' decision to not announce a reward for tips. "Investigators continue to get good tips and leads and are focusing on those at this time," Johnson said.

This comes as an unofficial theory about a “white 2011-13 Hyundai Elantra” that was supposedly near the house when the killings were carried out has been doing the rounds on the internet. A Reddit post implied that “out-of-towners” who came to see a football game between the Idaho Vandals and UC Davis Aggies on November 12 may have murdered the four youngsters.

The post read, “The football team from UC Davis would have brought plenty of outsiders from out-of-town, either from California or folks from Idaho or Washington who had ties to Northern California or UC Davis, like former alta matter or people who grew up near Davis/Sacramento…Has there been any local speculation as to that being who might have driven the white Hyundai Elantra and/or murdered the four? It's not like it would take much reconnaissance for an out-of-towner to figure out where frat row in Moscow was located, or what off-campus housing would appear as having all-female residents.”

The post added, “...Or if the perpetrator had ties to The University of Idaho in Moscow, maybe he already knew that information and happened to be in town, with the desire to kill. Hell, it's not like murderers don't play sports, either. Dipping into a town for a day or two, knowing you'll be long gone from the area, probably opens up a world of possibilities for the murderous mind.”
