Why is Buffie Purselle suing Instagram?
Buffie Purselle is suing Instagram following the unfair treatment by the social media platform. The reality star recently claimed that her Instagram account was unfairly deleted causing her to lose over 130,000 followers including the profits. Buffie revealed in the lawsuit filed on February 16 that her account was suddenly disabled in September and has been closed ever since despite her best efforts to get it reinstated. Meanwhile, in a recent interview with The Post, she shared, "I worked really hard to build that page up and I monetized that page." For the unversed, Buffie's Instagram account (with the handle name @buffiepurselle) was deleted on September 17, 2022. However, Instagram parent company Meta sent her an email notifying her they removed a September 9, 2022 video she posted that belonged to someone else just two days before her account got vanished. Buffie further claimed in the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court that Instagram didn’t give her any warning or even the chance to remove the post herself, which she would have gladly done since she didn’t realize the video was a proprietary comedy sketch. Meanwhile, Buffie added to the outlet, "I wouldn’t have fought to remove it. I didn’t make any money off of it. I would have deleted it on my own."
