'I am devastated': Jerry Hall blames Rupert Murdoch's children for end of marriage
The former fashion model Jerry Hall, 66, has been left "heartbroken" and "devastated" by the sudden end of her marriage to billionaire Rupert Murdoch, 91. Hall blamed Murdoch's children for instigating Murdoch against her and creating a wedge between the couple. Reportedly, Hall was waiting in the UK for the media tycoon to join her when he sent an email saying their marriage was over. The message added that she should communicate with him only via his lawyers. A source close to Hall told the media outlet that the model said, “I still love him. I am devastated.”
Tensions between Hall and Murdoch’s children sprung out during the pandemic. The source told Daily Mail that Hall apparently assumed a “gatekeeping” role to keep her husband safe from Covid-19. She believes that led his family to think she was seeking to cut their regular contact with their father.

“They thought that Jerry was keeping them from him,” a friend is quoted as saying. “She does blame the children for souring the marriage. They had a lot to say about it and a role in his personal life, which she found a nasty surprise. Clearly, they mistrusted her.”
Earlier this year, according to the source, there were discussions with Hall and the wider family about her financial status and what she might get when Murdoch died, the paper reports.
Murdoch, who is the CEO and Chairman of media group News Corp, has a whopping fortune of $17billion. It is not known whether Murdoch and Hall had signed a pre-nuptial agreement. Murdoch’s businesses include Sky TV and the Sun and Times newspapers. He also owns US television networks Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. However, it is unclear how much of the media giant's $17billion fortune may go to Hall. Lawyer Mark Stephens, of the Howard Kennedy firm, said Murdoch may have signed a ‘fairly generous’ pre-nuptial agreement.
The source further said, “Jerry is truly devastated by what has happened and insists that it was all a bolt from the blue. One day they were making plans to be together for the summer in London, then there was this message instructing her to only contact him via lawyers.”
Murdoch and Hall married in 2016 in a private ceremony in St Bride’s church in London having met a year earlier. The marriage came after a five-month courtship with the former supermodel Hall, who previously dated the Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger for more than 20 years. Hall has four children with Jagger.
