"I am making this post to share my journey from 284 lbs at 5'3 from pregnancy 2021 – now 2023," wrote King, adding, "It doesn't happen overnight. It didn't even happen in a year for me. In fact, it's an ongoing, still working towards ever-changing goals kinda thing."

She explained how postpartum made her feel awful, stating, "I fell into a very deep depression during my pregnancy. I also didn't even realize how intense postpartum depression is and was until I very slowly began to crawl out. I felt trapped in my body. I couldn't even sing."

The turning point for King came when she made the decision to embrace physical activity as a means of combating her emotional distress.

"So I started slow. Metabolic workouts. Light cardio to warm up my body, my lungs, my voice, and my spirit. I am a creature of habit, so I changed my f**king habits. Every few weeks I feel my body getting stronger. I add more workouts."

King also tagged her personal trainer, with whom she works out regularly. Then the singer wrote, "But if you don’t have one of those then YOU have to be your own champion," hinting at people who might not have such an exercise partner.

"Find music you like! Ride a bike! Go for a swim! I thought I wanted to lose weight, but it's so much more. My BRAIN functions better on the days I move my body," continued the 'Drunk' vocalist.

"Some days I count stretch marks. Some days I hug myself and say thank you to my body. Today is a kind day. I've been tiny, I've been huge, BUT RIGHT NOW I'M HEALTHY," expressed King, noting that there have been several ups and downs in her journey.

Further, she said, "I can’t believe that I even have to say this, but no, I am not on any weight loss medication," possibly hinting toward the discourse surrounding Ozempic.

"I have PCOS and am pre-diabetic. My diabetic grandfather died when I was 10 years old. I watched him prick his finger and give himself shots. I do not judge anyone who is trying to live a healthier life," asserted the 'Without You' songstress about respecting individual journeys.

The video accompanying her Instagram post gave glimpses of the singer working out, doing her skincare, and performing during a soundcheck, showing her physical as well as mental progress.

Elle King's recovery from a fall that resulted in a concussion and amnesia

Elle King had a setback in her postpartum journey when she fell in her home in December 2022. The accident that occurred while she was home alone with her son, Lucky Levi, posed challenges, but her positivity and unwavering spirit helped her overcome the adversity.

King recalled, "I was walking down our steps in the middle of the night, to make a bottle, and I slipped and knocked myself unconscious," about the accident.

"I can laugh now because I'm doing a lot better, but it was a very intense thing. They said I got amnesia and got post-concussion syndrome," the singer told Entertainment Tonight, giving an update about her health.

Her remarkable journey is also deeply intertwined with the sense of community she found in Nashville, as she noted, "What I love about Nashville is the community that I haven't really had in any of the last multiple cities that I've lived in, even if I've had a bunch of friends."

"There's something beautiful about this city and my friends and my music family, they all totally gathered around me and were all so supportive and showed up for me and helped me with the baby," added King.
