WESTCHESTER, NEW YORK: 'Ryan’s Hope' fame Michael Levin died at a hospital in Westchester, New York, on January 6 at the age of 90. His son, Jason Levin, reportedly confirmed the news of his death. Michael had brought to life the character of Jack Fenelli in the iconic ABC soap opera 'Ryan's Hope' that aired from 1975 to 1989 and best known for that.

Michael was born on December 8, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and apart from 'Ryan's Hope', his other well-known appearances were in 'As the World Turns' and the 1985 movie 'The Equalizer', as per IMDb. He also performed on Broadway in 'The Royal Hunt of the Sun' with David Carradine in 1965 and in 'Camino Real' with Al Pacino, among several other notable plays, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The iconic actor is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, sons Jason and Aaron, and grandchildren Veronica and Nico.

Michael died of natural causes at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York, reported the aforementioned publication quoting the actor's son, Jason. From 1978 to 1980, Levin received three consecutive nominations for a Daytime Emmy in the category of 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series'. Michael also ranked No 24 on the list of the 50 Greatest Soap Actors of All Time compiled in 2010 by the website We Love Soaps.

Michael's death has prompted several fans to express their love and respect for the actor along with sharing condolences to his family. "I absolutely loved Michael's performances on RH. One of my all-time favorites," wrote a Twitter user. "Woke up to news that the legendary Michael Levin had passed. Watching his story unfold on Ryan’s Hope where he & @TheKateMulgrew fell madly in love is such a wonderful memory. Watching him act was like a masterclass, so inspiring even now. Speechless," another Twitter user wrote.



 



 

"RIP Michael Levin. Ryan's Hope's Jack and Mary were my all-time favorite romantic couple from soaps. Cried my ass off over those two for three years. Now I'll cry some more," wrote a third user. Whilst, a fourth commented, "RIP Michael Levin. Oh, how I loved Mary and Jack on Ryan’s Hope. Time stand still. Please."
