How did Jamie Lopez die? 'Super Sized Salon' star, 37, was hospitalized days before death
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: 'Super Sized Salon' star Jamie Lopez has died at age 37. The Founder and Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture was taken to a Las Vegas hospital this past weekend. She shortly died after suffering from heart complications.
'Super Sized Salon,' which debuted on WE tv earlier this year, showed off a completely different Lopez. The 846-pound Salon beauty who had designed her salon, the Las Vegas-based Babydoll Beauty Couture, from her home, had severely shed 400 pounds. The series showed the entrepreneur visiting her glamourous establishment for the first time. However, Jamie Lopez was preparing to start filming for the upcoming season of the reality series 'Super Sized Salon.' Now after her tragic death it's unclear if the show will have a second season.

The salon posted an emotional statement in Lopez's memory on its Instagram page on Monday, December 19 that read, "On behalf of the Babydoll Beauty Couture team, we regretfully announce, with great pain, the passing of The Founder & Owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, The Legendary Jamie Lopez." It continued, "We ask, on behalf of the Babydoll family, that you allow us time to process this tremendous loss. Further details and arrangements will be announced soon."
"We have suffered an extraordinary loss and appreciate the time and space to grieve in peace. Please keep our Babydoll family & team lifted in your hearts and prayers." The salon thanked staffers and crew members from WE tv and Matador Content "for all their continuous support in this difficult time." Speaking of Lopez's journey to Yahoo Beauty in 2017 she said, "I started off as a makeup artist and was highly discriminated against for being a plus-size woman."
Adding that her personal experience was the force behind opening a salon, she said, "I was inspired by there being no place I could get my nails or hair done in Vegas that would accommodate my needs as a plus-size woman, and I decided it was time to make some changes for the plus-size women of the world." "It makes me very upset to be mistreated because of my size, and not have a place where I can get beautiful," she said. "When women walk away from getting services done at my salon, I want them to feel beautiful, confident, and sexy," she concluded.
The 37-year-old's fans were heartbroken after hearing about her sudden death. One Instagram user wrote, "WHAT!?? Noooo! This breaks my heart! Rest Easy Momma!" Another commented, "Nothing but love." "Sending love & and healing light to you all during this difficult time! Jamie’s dream will live on forever," one comment read. "Talk about leaving a legacy! I’m so grateful for what you’ve started Jamie, all of us out here have been dreaming of what you brought into the real world our whole lives. Thank you, rest in power," a user remarked. One user wrote, "I’m gutted. Jamie you inspired me so much. I loved watching you strive for your dreams." One more user said, "I am heartbroken, she was such an inspiration."
