FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA: R&B singer B Smyth died on Thursday, November 17, of lung disease at the age of 28. The tragic news was made public by his brother, Denzil, in a video message posted on Smith's Instagram account. Denzil explained how Smith was excited to celebrate his new single, 'Twerkoholic Part 2', with his fans which dropped last month. Many fans came forward to remember the singer and pay their tributes.

Denzil announced the death of the 28-year-old singer writing, "Today regretfully I have to announce that my brother has passed away this morning from respiratory failure after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. My brother was very excited to see a lot of you create challenges for his latest released single #Twerkoholic part 2 while he was in the ICU, it really brought him a big smile to his face. So on behalf of my brother and my family we want to say thank you to all of you for all of your love & support throughout the years." Smyth's most viral track was 'Twerkoholic' which gained 17 million views on YouTube and 13 million streams on Spotify and his journey started by covering Rihanna's songs.

He had released a second part of the song while he was in the ICU. He ultimately signed to Motown Records in 2012 and released his first single titled 'Leggo' with 2 Chainz.  He then collaborated with Future on 'Win Win', which was the lead single of his first album, 'The Florida Files'. Last year he released his EP titled 'It's Yours For the Summer'.

Fans mourn B Smyth's death

One fan remembered Smyth and his music saying, "not gonna lie , #bsmyth dying messed me up alittle his music really was like my whole entire teenage years lol I was so lit to that sh*t." Another user tweeted, "the news about B Smyth is so gut wrenching! i use to BLAST “ Twerkoholic ” in middle school 24/7" One more user wrote, "Life is so unfair. I cannot believe B.Smyth passed. I just saw that he released twerkaholic part 2 last week. It’s really insane because if you asked me in 2014 I would’ve sworn he was gonna be such a big star. He reminded me so much of like Young Chris Brown. So talented"

One fan mourned his death and tweeted, "I can’t handle this one at all B Smyth really was the best under rated artist that we had. I remember playing tf out of his songs on the way to dance classes and even made a dance to one of his songs" Another user remembered Smyth for his talent and wrote, "Been fw B Smyth literally since day 1. Remember his 106 & Park world premieres and everything. Bruh was supposed to been way bigger than what he was." One more user wrote, "If y’all knew me in my teen years, y’all knew that B Smyth was supposed to be the man I married so to learn that he passed away this morning really broke my heart. May he rest in peace"
