LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The late actor, Ray Liotta, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame nine months after his unexpected death. The ceremony will reportedly be held on February 24 at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard in front of Eastown in Los Angeles.

The star, which will be the 2,749th to be dedicated on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame since the first star was put in March 1960, will be accepted by Ray's daughter, the 24-year-old actress Karsen Liotta, on behalf of her father. As special guests, actors Taron Egerton and Elizabeth Banks will pay homage to the late actor during the dedication.

'When any actor of Ray's caliber puts trust in you as a director, it's a gift'

According to the official website of Hollywood Hall of Fame, the live-streamed event will take place in conjunction with the release of Banks' action-comedy 'Cocaine Bear', which stars Keri Russell and O'Shea Jackson Jr and features one of Ray's final cinematic performances. After Ray died, Banks addressed his respect for her as the director of 'Cocaine Bear' on Instagram. The two had first met on the shooting of the 2011 comedy movie 'The Details'.

"When any actor of Ray's caliber puts trust in you as a director, it's a gift. But Ray gave me so much more," said Banks. "I had been told in the past by Hollywood producers that men wouldn't follow me, that I couldn't direct action because of that. Ray's respect for me as a director, actress and artist, as his boss on set, meant everything to me because if you can direct Henry Hill, you can do f***ing anything in this town," she concluded.

Despite the fact that Egerton and Ray's relationship was just recently established when they collaborated on the Apple TV+ miniseries 'Black Bird' (2022), the Welsh actor admitted to Entertainment Weekly that he and Ray had a "special bond" ever since they first met. "Ray Liotta's all-around career made him a triple threat and sadly his passing was devastating to the entertainment world," Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Of Fame said after Variety reported the news of his posthumous star. Martinez added, "The characters he portrayed will always be etched in Hollywood's film history."

Ray's best works

The 67-year-old native of Newark, New Jersey, died peacefully in his sleep in May last year while filming the upcoming thriller 'Dangerous Waters' in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In addition to 'Clash', he had three additional movies in post-production at the time of his death that will be released posthumously. These movies include the satirical comedy 'Fool's Paradise' and 'The Substance'.

Ray made his professional acting debut in 1978 at the age of 24 with a part on the daytime soap opera 'Another World', which ran from 1978 until 1981. He made his acting debut in the drama film 'The Lonely Lady' (1983), but it wasn't until his third movie, Jonathan Demme's 'Something Wild' (1986), with Melanie Griffith and Jeff Daniels, that achieved wide acclaim.

Only a few years later, he appeared in the two movies for which he is best known for. The first one being Martin Scorsese's 'Goodfellas' along with and Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. The other one was the 1989 sports fantasy classic, 'Field of Dreams', as the legendary baseball player, Shoeless Joe Jackson. In the movie, he costarred with Kevin Costner, James Earl Jones, Amy Madigan and Burt Lancaster.
