'We don't do those things': Eva Mendes opens up about keeping her relationship with Ryan Gosling private
NORTH SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES: Eva Mendes recently took to Instagram to address why she and her partner, Ryan Gosling, do not attend public events together. In response to a fan's comment expressing hope to see them together on the awards show circuit while promoting Gosling's upcoming movie 'Barbie', Mendes replied, "But we don't do those things together." The comment was made on a post featuring scenes from the movie 'The Place Beyond the Pines,' in which they co-starred back in 2011.
Eva went on to clarify why she and Gosling posed for red-carpet photos together during the promotion of 'The Place Beyond the Pines' in 2010. She explained, "We only were on the red carpet together once when promoting this film." Addressing why they have opted not to attend public events as a couple, Mendes stated, "By 'not comfortable,' I mean exposing our very private life that we value." She did, however, express her desire to work with Gosling on another movie, saying, "I'm still dying to do another movie with him though."

Inside Mendes and Gosling's private relationship
Mendes and Gosling have always been discreet about their personal relationship, keeping them away from the public eye. They are highly mindful of safeguarding their daughters' privacy, eight-year-old Esmeralda and six-year-old Amanda. Despite this, Mendes openly expresses her love for Gosling, as evidenced by her recent post, where she shared a video from their movie, 'The Place Beyond the Pines', with the caption, "Magic is real. We did not meet on set."
"The magic started way before but here's a little magic captured on camera", she remarked. The couple has always maintained a private life, to the extent that they have never publicly confirmed their marital status. However, they have been spotted wearing what appears to be wedding bands for several years. In a November 2022 interview, Mendes reportedly referred to Gosling as her "husband."
Mendes shares Easter celebrations at home
Over the weekend, the actress from the hit movie Hitch took to Instagram to share glimpses of her family's Easter celebrations spent at their home. The series of snapshots showcase the actress in various roles, including a vintage truck driver, a dog lover, and even the proud owner of a unicorn sculpture, all of which she amusingly listed in her caption. The first two photos depict her driving a striking, aqua-blue vintage truck on her driveway, with her grand Spanish-style home towering in the background. While her partner Gosling and their children were not featured in any of the photos, some fans speculated that Gosling might be the man dressed up in an Easter Bunny costume in one of them. Mendes' mother, on the other hand, was included in one of the snapshots, where the two were seen cuddling up on a lounge chair. Mendes looked stunning in a white linen dress with embroidered drawings, while her mother looked lovely in a pink monochrome outfit, making it evident where the actress gets her striking looks from. Finally, the carousel of photos features the house's real and faux animals, including her beloved gray Weimaraner, a colossal sculpture of a lying white unicorn in the yard, and the Easter Bunny making an appearance.
