She completed the casual look with a cream backpack and well-worn high-top sneakers. She was walking alongside her friend, who was wearing a plunging black and white polka dot dress. Recently, the ‘Boogie Nights' actress made a statement about sexism in Hollywood in an interview with NewBeauty magazine.

‘I want loving, supportive people by my side’

Heather expressed her belief that there was no age where women are allowed to feel good about themselves, shedding light on the prevalent and unfair culture within the entertainment industry. "I think, culturally, there is definitely a message out there that keeps telling us, 'Women feel bad about yourself!'" she explained.

Graham went on to add, "It seems like there's no age where we're really allowed to feel good about ourselves - except for maybe a very short window. The rest of the time we're supposed to feel like, 'I'm too young or I'm too old,'" she said.

Despite the challenges she has faced, the ‘Austin Powers’ star has discovered a method to handle them and improve her well-being. "I have to unplug from the culture, which is a patriarchal way of looking at things, and to affirm myself and be happy and grateful for what I do have," she shared.

"The older I get, the pickier I am about the energy I want around me," the 'Scrubs' alum told the outlet. She added, "I want loving, supportive people by my side. When I was younger, I was always seeking out difficult, dramatic, complicated people. At some point, I realized that it is exhausting”. The ‘Extrapolations' actress has gleaned wisdom from her past. She said, "Now, I try to have people that are supportive in my circle... You have to be with the people that really celebrate you."

'I think one of the main things is sleep’

Heather Graham has managed to maintain a youthful appearance, and she attributes this to one simple habit: getting enough sleep. "I think one of the main things is sleep. I try to get a lot of sleep. Beyond that, I think just being happy on the inside and whatever," she said. "I do all the self-help stuff: I meditate, I do yoga, I work through all the stuff in therapy, then do all the different kinds of sorting through my inner world to make myself feel happy on the inside," The 'Hypnotist's Love Story' actress explained.

Although sexism is deeply embedded in the entertainment industry, Heather expressed optimism and confidence about the progress women are making. She acknowledged the increasing number of women holding influential positions in the industry and the impact they are having on shaping the culture.

Heather is passionate about creating empowering content for women and has taken on more behind-the-scenes work. She strongly believes that the media we consume has a significant impact and is committed to making a positive contribution through her projects.
