JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA: Costa Titch's shocking death after collapsing twice on the stage during a performance has left his family and supporters in total disbelief and heartbreak. The 28-year-old rapper from South Africa, whose real name was Constantinos Tsobanoglou, lost consciousness while performing at Ultra Music Festival in Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday, March 11, but proceeded until he passed out once again.
The song 'Big Flexa,' which includes Akon in its remix version and has 45 million views on YouTube, ranks as the most popular song of Titch. In his tribute, Akon took to Instagram and while sharing the family statement. He wrote, "Costa Titch was more than just an artist."

'I was convinced he was going to make an impact in this world'
Akon said, "He was a brilliant superstar and a hardworking man with a kind heart which endeared him to all around him. I remember when Babs played me his record for the first time. I was convinced that he was going to make an impact in this world. Costa Titch had a vision that I knew for sure would take over the music industry globally and was on his way to doing just that when god’s plan intervened."

Akon further wrote, "Its been a sad day but what makes me feel better is that I know he died doing what he loved doing the most in this world. God bless you COSTA!!!!!." Akon, who signed Costa to his Konvict Muzik imprint, said, "The entire team at Konvict Kulture has lost a brother and an important member of the family. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."
Costa's family released a statement thanking first responders, announcing that his "death has tragically knocked on the door" and robbed us of our believed son." The family shared, "We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth. As a family, we are facing a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves."
