'He takes issue when it's the FEMALE': Tucker Carlson trolled for calling purple M&M 'obese'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Candy company M&Ms has reportedly indefinitely paused their 'spokescandies', replacing them with the face of comedian Maya Rudolph. The move was announced after rebrand of the cartoon versions of the chocolate treat sparked criticism. Fox News host Tucker Carlson was seen bashing the rebrand as "Woke M&Ms". His comments about the cartoon characters prompted social media users to troll him.
Carlson has been one of the most prominent people to have slammed the rebrand. The characters were first updated in January 2022, as part of a "global commitment to creating a world where everyone feels they belong and society is inclusive", the candy's parent company, Mars Inc, had said, according to BBC. Carlson said during his show, "M&M's will not be satisfied until every last cartoon character is deeply unappealing and totally androgynous. Until the moment you wouldn't want to have a drink with any one of them. That's the goal." Meanwhile, he also said in a clip, "The woke M&Ms are back, targeting them as the green M&M and "a plus-sized, obese purple M&M". Carlson is now being trolled on social media for his remarks, especially the one where he called the purple M&M 'obese'.

Interestingly, the purple M&M is oval-shaped and comparatively slimmer than her more circular friends and social media users called out Carlson, saying he has an issue with the purple M&M because it's female.
One user said, "Notice how @TuckerCarlson only takes issue when the FEMALE M&M appears “obese”. OMG, I can’t take this seriously. I just can’t." "Still can't get over the fact that Tucker Carlson sexualizes animated humanoid candies. Just not the obese peanut filled candy. That would be weird," said another. "I cannot get enough of Tucker Carlson's M&M's punditry. It defies parody. Please @mmschocolate, we need you to keep your candy anthropomorphic and frumpy, queer, obese, anxious, whatever! This is art serving a higher purpose! Don't deny us this comedy," one user said.

"Tucker Carlson called the purple one "obese" and then they canceled her smh," one user said, while another wrote, "It’s laughable that you are spending your time talking about the personalities of… chocolate candies. Hard-hitting news, indeed." "You’re still taking about m&ms and their attractiveness…pathetic," wrote one user.
