'How do you know?': Internet mocks Tucker Carlson for saying Zelenskyy 'dressed like manager of strip club'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Internet users mocked Fox News’ Tucker Carlson after he launched into a wild tirade against the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy claiming that he was ‘dressed like the manager of a strip club’ when he addressed Congress on Wednesday, December 21. Zelenskyy hailed the United States for aiding his nation in retaliating against the Russian invasion in a historic speech before a rare joint session of Congress. Zelenskyy, who was dressed in military fatigues, emphasized the need for US aid to the country's continuous fight as Ukraine enters a harsh winter.

Carlson who was troubled by the wartime leader's attire, told the audience, “As far as we know, no one’s ever addressed the United States Congress in a sweatshirt before, but they love him much more than they love you. The point was to fawn over the Ukrainian strip club manager and hand him billions more dollars from our own crumbling economy. It is hard, in fact, it may be impossible, to imagine a more humiliating scenario for the greatest country on Earth.”

However, not everyone agreed with Carlson, as several people on social media came out and mocked the Fox News host for his remark. One person wrote on Twitter, “Volodymyr Zelenskyy is what courage looks like. TuckerCarlson tearing down a person based upon his looks just demonstrates your fear and inadequacies.” “How does TuckerCarlson know what the manager of a strip club dresses like?” another wondered, a sentiment echoed in another tweet that read, “How does he know what the manager of a strip club dresses like?” 

Someone else noted, “And I'm sure Tucker has vast experience in strip clubs upon which to base his outrage.” “Zelensky looks like one of his fearless troops and is showing solidarity with them…something Tucker would never understand. It’s working for him, sends the right message and is great for moral,” yet another user remarked. 

Zelenskyy's trip comes after Republicans get ready to take over the House of Representatives, casting doubt on the future of American aid to Ukraine. In the wake of a campaign for pro-Russia talking points from far-right figures like Tucker Carlson, a number of GOP members recently backed a resolution introduced by extreme right-wing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to investigate American assistance to Ukraine. Despite the fact that the proposal was unsuccessful, Greene promised to revive it in the next Congress.
