How did Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde keep their 'romance a secret'? Rumors claim they've been dating for weeks
Some 12 hours ago, the Internet practically broke over Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde's dating rumors. Some chose to be in disbelief while others called out the mainstream media's hypocrisy for labeling them an item all for holding hands at a wedding when Styles has done the same with fellow musician Lizzo in the past.
With each party coming in strong, it soon became difficult to deny that the dating claims had more to back them up than the rest. And then came the insiders and sources spilling their anonymous deets about how Styles and Wilde have been dating for weeks. Wondering how such a massive event in pop culture stayed under wraps for so long? Well, James Corden might have something to do with it.
The rumors began as photos from Styles' agent's wedding emerged and the 'Olivia' singer was spotted holding hands with his plus-one who we can safely conclude was probably the inspiration behind that number. For now, sources have told People magazine that the alleged couple "were in Montecito, California, this weekend for a wedding. They were affectionate around their friends, held hands and looked very happy. They have dated for a few weeks.”
However, that was some 10 hours ago and recent developments suggest that not only did Styles manage to get some alone time with his 'Don't Worry Darling' director in LA during the filming of the movie, but his good pal and British comedian Corden helped keep the "romance a secret' by allowing him to stay at his place.
In the photos published by Page Six, the believed to be dating couple can be seen arriving at the LA home where the singer had been staying. They seem to have luggage in tow, papped shortly after they were driving around together in Montecito. According to the outlet, 'The Late Late Show' host helped Styles pursue his alleged new romance blissfully and in peace by granting him access to his Palm Springs, California home where he was "able to be alone" with Wilde.
The rumored couple allegedly 'fell for each other' on the set of Wilde's upcoming horror film 'Don't Worry Darling' and Styles also introduced her as his girlfriend' at the wedding. Sources told the outlet: "This relationship between Harry and Olivia is very new. Olivia has been directing Harry in the movie in Palm Springs, and there were literally 10 people on the set because they were strictly adhering to Covid-19 rules."
It was the same insider who went on to add "Harry had been staying at James Corden's house near Palm Springs during filming, and so they were able to be alone and keep their relationship very secret. So everyone was really surprised — and rather delighted — when Harry brought Olivia as his date to the wedding and introduced her as his girlfriend."
As for the 10-year-age gap that has been the topic of many a discussion since the photos surfaced on the internet, the source added Styles doesn't give a "f**k" about that and was "openly holding hands and kissing Olivia".
The news comes after Wilde was reported to have split from Jason Sudeikis, whom she was engaged to for eight years and shares two children with. Styles, meanwhile, has been revelling in the glory of a new album, major Grammy nods and making headlines by wearing a gown on Vogue's cover for which he was shown public support at the time with none other than his now rumoured lady.
With either of the celebrities or their reps to address the photos or these claims of a new romance, we only have the rumor mill to fall back on right now.
