Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal in 'jeopardy' after alleged royal PHOTO SNUB
Netflix bosses are reportedly said to be miffed after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle allegedly suffered a royal snub from the Queen.
Royal expert Angela Levin claimed that the Sussexes' failure to land a photo op with Queen Elizbeth II and other senior royals with baby Lillibet at last week's Platinum Jubilee celebrations was a huge disappointment for Netflix executives. The acclaimed Prince Harry and Camilla Parker Bowles biographer made the sensational claim on Tuesday, June 7, during an appearance on the British news channel GB News.

“I heard Netflix wanted these pictures of them with the royals,” Levin told the outlet. “Because they would have sold it. It would be very valuable, very valuable to them.” The streaming giant began filming the Sussexes' so-called "at home" docuseries in May, but camera crews were reportedly banned from the Jubilee as part of the “Sandringham agreement” made when the couple stepped down as working royals back in January 2020.

Levin offered her take on the latest photo controversy that emerged when Harry, 37, and Markle, 40, introduced Lillibet, 1, to the Queen for the first time last Wednesday after flying to the UK to participate in the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The California-based couple reportedly wanted their personal photographer to capture candid moments of the 96-year-old monarch with Lillibet. However, they were banned from doing so. “No chance. It was a private family event,” one anonymous source with knowledge of the situation told The Sun. The same insider also claimed that the Queen's minders were also concerned the Sussexes would leak the photos to TV networks in the US.
However, another source with knowledge of the situation told the New York Post that the claim is baseless and that “they just enjoyed a private and intimate visit with the Queen.” The insider added that Harry and Meghan didn’t even bother asking for photos as the Queen wasn’t feeling well. Levin disagreed as she nodded along with the former explanation. “Harry and Meghan wanted to see the Queen as soon as possible, so she saw them on the first day,” she claimed. “She went in, and then they asked if they brought their own photographer and they asked if he could take a picture of the two Lilibets, and she said, ‘No, absolutely not possible.‘”
According to Levin, the royal snub could jeopardize the Sussexes' streaming career, after having signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix in 2020 after relocating to the US. “They would have used it [the photo] for Netflix,” she added. “It would give them a kudos that they had her with her great-grandmother, you know.” Investigative journalist Tom Bower agreed with Levin. “The Sussexes’ contract with Netflix is in jeopardy,” the reporter, who is working on a biography of Meghan, told the Daily Mail. “The veto of photos will fuel the Sussexes’ resentment. Harry’s reprisal could be more revelations in his book billed to be published later this year.” He added, “This is a dangerous game for both sides.”
Levin said she felt Harry and Meghan's conduct during the celebrations was a “very poor show … I think they felt that everyone [the royal family] would drop everything,” she said, adding that they “probably just went off in a rage" following the alleged snub. “I thought they were like petulant teenagers, really,” she continued. “If they didn’t get what they wanted, they would leave. They did leave early. They left before the pageant on Sunday. They also didn’t go to anything else.” She added, “They wanted to stay together as a family. I mean that’s a nonsense thing. You’re with your family the whole time, you don’t sort of use that as an excuse if you’re so close.”
Harry and Meghan flew out of the UK on Sunday, June 5, before the Jubilee celebrations had concluded. While some perceived the premature departure as yet another royal snub, sources told the Post that the couple "always intended to attend two events and leave."
