Amid simmering tensions between the Cambridge and the Sussex royals, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly wished Prince William and Kate Middleton on their milestone wedding anniversary. No, there wasn't a social media post or new update on their Archewell website, but Hello! magazine confirms that Harry and Meghan have congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their tenth wedding anniversary in private.

A spokesperson for the California-based couple had also shared news of this little development with the Daily Beast, and considering the timing of this communication after alleged 'unproductive' calls between Harry and William, and Prince Charles, looks like an olive branch is being extended. Many have speculated this move to be a bid to repair the strained relations between the two households after hitting a low over Harry and Meghan's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. With outlets like Hello, Daily Mail, and The Daily Beast alluding to the possibility of reconciliation, looks like the chatter that Kate sparked between the two brothers in Prince Philip's funeral, might have actually worked. However, confirmation of a patch-up between the brothers is yet to come officially, and for now, fans of Princess Diana's sons will have to settle for news of this private wish.

But while an official acknowledgment of the relationship in repair is yet to come, it's worth noting that sources told The Daily Mail that Charles, Harry and William had met in person at Windsor grounds so that none of the conversations could be misconstrued later. Some have actively debunked these claims, with sources telling The Daily Beast "there was little expectation the trip would heal the rift." This comes after the trip to UK was Harry's first one since Megxit and the bombshell Oprah interview where Meghan alleged racism within the royal family and bullying from British media. Harry too couldn't wait to rush back to his heavily pregnant wife who couldn't make it to Prince Philip's funeral after the ceremony was over, leaving little room for speculations about a solid reconciliation with his brother.

William and Kate married ten years ago, in 2011, on April 29. In honor of their marriage completing a decade, the couple released two new portraits taken at their home in Kensington Palace, earlier this week. Shared on the eve of their wedding anniversary, the photos showed Kate and William in each other's arms, smiling bright, seated in the lush green lawns of their property. Known for keeping the PDA to a minimum, the royals were seen in matching blue outfits in the portraits.

Harry and Meghan might not have been the only royal family members to wish William and Kate, but they definitely were the only ones to wish them in private. When it came to their father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the couple wished William and Kate by reposting one of the photos from their anniversary portraits on the Prince of Wales' official Twitter account, with the caption "Wishing The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy 10th wedding anniversary," alongside a party popper emoji.

The first wish however came from the top of the monarchy with Queen Elizabeth II wishing William and Kate publicly via her Twitter account. The anniversary post read
"Wishing The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a very happy wedding anniversary. Today marks ten years since Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey."

Camera Press photographer Chris Floyd who enjoyed the honor of taking these portraits also said: "The day I visited Cambridge for the first time in my life was also the day I was approached to photograph the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their tenth wedding anniversary. It was a thrill to spend some time with them at Kensington Palace, especially as the Duchess is a rather keen photographer."

The outlet also reports that the photos were taken when William and Kate's three children -- Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte -- were at school or in the nursery. But while it's unsure what exactly Harry and Meghan said to them in their wish, this alleged interaction comes shortly after it was reported that William might struggle forgiving Meghan for the way she called out Kate in her interview with Oprah Winfrey. Insiders claim even though Kate has forgiven the Sussexes and is over the matter, with her reconciliation pursuits clear at Prince Philip's funeral, her husband William is not quite okay yet with Meghan alleging that Kate had made her cry ahead of her May 19, 2018, royal wedding to Harry.
