Gwen Stefani asked husband Blake Shelton to cut ties with Adam Levine after sexting scandal, claims source
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Breaking her silence, Gwen Stefani has reportedly urged her husband Blake Shelton to cut all his ties with long-time pal Adam Levine following his sexting scandal. Levine was slammed after allegations surfaced that he cheated on his wife Behati Prinsloo by sexting several other women, including Sumner Stroh.
A source close to Stefani and Shelton told Radar Online that the ‘Luxurious’ singer, who is close to Prinsloo, has asked her husband to maintain distance from the Maroon 5 frontman and lose his number as she herself went through the humiliation of a public affair after her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale cheated on her with their nanny in 2015.

“For her, it’s personal,” said the source. “She isn’t worried about Adam being a bad influence [on Blake], this is about principle," they added.
However, it seems like Stefani doesn’t have to do much work here as Shelton reportedly is already not on good terms with the ‘Girl Like You' crooner after he left ‘The Voice’ in 2019. Adam and Shelton both delivered equal efforts to launch the show in 2011 but Levine left his pal in the middle and departed from the show after the 16th season. A source close to the duo told Radar Online their friendship is “on life support” and they were not as close as they pretended for the cameras.
“It wasn’t all an act, but the relationship was exaggerated for TV. When Adam left the show the two of them didn’t have to pretend anymore, they haven’t spoken in a while. There was no big dramatic falling out, but they both just moved on. It happens all the time with work relationships,” the source said.
The friendship between the two soured further when Adam, who is expecting a third child with his wife, was accused of sending flirtatious messages to several women.
A storm struck Levine and Prinsloo when a model named Sumner Stroh accused Levine of cheating on his wife with her. In a TikTok video, viewed 21 million times, Stroh said she "was having an affair with a man who is married to Victoria's Secret model," and said she felt "manipulated", adding, "At the time, you know, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly I feel exploited. I wasn't in the scene like I am now. So I was definitely very easily manipulated."
After Stroh broke the internet with her allegation, another model came out and accused Levine of going out of line with her. Revealing the messages Levine allegedly sent her, Alyson Rose said, “I guess if any other girls have experienced this with him … I just think they should post it ’cause I feel really bad for his wife, and nobody deserves this.”
Since both Stroh and Rose’s allegations, three more women — including his former yoga teacher, a fitness model, and a comedian — have come forward to share the flirty messages they received from the singer.
Following the allegations, Levine is keen on maintaining a low profile. He even publically apologized to his wife and said, “A lot is being said about me right now, and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair. Nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life."
