'Grey’s Anatomy' star Eric Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart's divorce still not final after 5 years
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It has been almost five years since Grey’s Anatomy actor Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart decided separation. However, even after so many years, the couple has not yet finalized their divorce and they were spotted spending time with their kids and family together at getaways.
“They haven’t called off their divorce, but they let their court papers lapse. So if they still want to end their marriage, they have to start all over,” said a friend close to Dane and Gayheart, reports Radar.

MEAWW previously reported that the 'Grey's Anatomy' star Dane and his wife of 14 years, Gayheart, filed for divorce. Wanting to end the decade-long marriage, the Scream 2 star, filed for a split from the 'Euphoria' star back in 2018.
According to Radar, a friend of the pair said the duo who are still legally married are raising their daughters Billie, 12, and Georgia, 10 jointly, and at times they even stay together. The couple took their children to Europe for vacation in August. Their friend said, “Eric and Rebecca wanted their freedom. They have that now, but they still love each other and are great parents to their kids,” and “they’re happy with the status quo.”
Since 2019, the couple's amicable split is still on ice. Citing "irreconcilable differences," Gayheart claimed in her petition that there was no possibility for them to reconcile. Requesting the court to offer her spousal support every month, she also sought to share joint custody of their minor daughters.
Responding to the request, 'The Last Ship' star and producer agreed to the monthly spousal support. Dane also agreed to the sharing of joint legal and physical custody of their children, as per the Radar report.
Both of them revealed their decision to split in a joint statement they issued. “After 14 years together, we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family. We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us,” the couple said.
Without seeking assistance from a lawyer, the duo submitted their court documents and filled out the petition by themselves. Both Gayheart, 51, and Dane, 49, have not been spotted with other romantic partners since their divorce in 2018.
