Grammy-winning musician Lenny Kravitz to deliver 'In Memoriam' performance at 95th Academy Awards
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lenny Kravitz, a Grammy-winning musician and occasional actor, will perform 'In Memoriam' at the 95th Academy Awards ceremony. The announcement comes on Monday, March 6, by Molly McNearney, executive producer and Oscar producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner.
The 'In Memoriam' segment of the Oscars, which honors notable individuals of the film business who died the previous year, is consistently one of the most-watched segments. More than 200 filmmakers, artists, and executives will feature in an extended photo gallery on A.frame, the Academy’s digital magazine.

Lenny Kravitz has recorded 11 studio albums
Kravitz is a four-time Grammy winner and has recorded 11 studio albums that have sold around 40 million copies worldwide. He’s also appeared as an actor in films such as Lee Daniels’ Oscar winner 'Precious' (2009) and 'The Butler' (2013) where he played Nurse John and James Holloway respectively and as the character Cinna in two Hunger Games films: 'The Hunger Games' and 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.' More recently, Kravitz starred alongside Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel in Jason Moore’s action comedy 'Shotgun Wedding' as per the Hollywood reporter.
As the only child of actress Roxie Roker and Hollywood producer Sy Kravitz, Lenny Kravitz has deep Hollywood connections. He was married to actress Lisa Bonet with whom he shares daughter Zoë Kravitz.
Moreover, four Oscar-nominated song performances will feature in this year’s ceremony. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, who will perform on the stage for the first time at the Oscars, will sing 'Naatu Naatu' from 'RRR' during the program on March 12. Besides, 'This Is A Life' from 'Everything Everywhere All at Once,' 'Applause' from 'Tell It Like a Woman,' and 'Lift Me Up' from 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,' is part of the scheduled performances for the 95th annual ceremony, the Variety reported.

In the coming weeks, the Oscars producers will continue to reveal more talent joining the show. The 95th Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will take place on Sunday, March 12, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be broadcast live on ABC and in more than 200 countries across the world. This year's ceremony will be executive produced by Molly McNearney, Glenn Weiss, and Ricky Kirshner with Weiss and Kirshner serving as showrunners.
