Who is Go Won, why are two selfies posted by the K-pop star and LOONA member taking the Internet by storm?
Go Won of the K-pop group LOONA is trending on Twitter after a single tweet on the group's account. The 19-year-old star shared two selfies with a Korean caption that translates to "Oh, the weather has become very warm. Time to photosynthesize." The two pics reveal a radiant blonde Go Won smiling and winking for the camera wearing a silver heart necklace and a white top.
With numerous comments describing her as "SO BEAUTIFUL" and "SO CUTE" and "PRETTIEST GIRLLLL," fans are pouring out their love and affection for the singer. "Gowon is gorgeous wtf," said a fan while another wrote, "I don't think we appreciate Gowon's visual enough.. I mean look she's so pretty wth?"
Fans themselves are also loving the fact that she is trending on Twitter after sharing just two selfies. "All Gowon had to do was post 2 selfies and mention photosynthesis and she's trending," noted a fan and another said, "not even 30 mins and Gowon is trending.. really it girl thingz." Other comments included, "If Gowon told you to photosynthesize you go out of the house and go photosynthesis" and "i am obsessed with Gowon from LOONA." As a fan similarly pointed out, a mere 30 minutes after she posted the pics, Gowon had over 11,000 tweets.
Go Won was born in Jung District, Incheon, South Korea and is the eleventh revealed member of LOONA. The group began their musical career in 2016 and Go Won joined two years later as she debuted in January 2018. With Go Won in the group, LOONA has released two EPs: '[+ +]' which arrived in 2018 and their latest '[#]' which released in February 2020. Go Won's self-titled solo single album was released in January 2018 and contains two tracks, 'One & Only' and 'See Saw' (Chuu and Go Won featuring Kim Lip).
Go Won has also worked with Grimes on the 2018 track 'love4eva' by LOONA subunit yyxy, made up of Go Won and bandmates Yves, Chuu and Olivia Hye. In May, Grimes said that Go Won is her baby's godmother. One Twitter user asked Grimes if Go Won was the godmother of her baby, to which Grimes succinctly replied with, "yes."
