Is Gisele Bundchen anti-vaxxer? Model backs Doutzen Kroes: ‘Can’t believe the hate’
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, unlike her husband Tom Brady appears to have an issue with vaccine mandates, or so it seems. On September 18, Bundchen lent her support to fellow supermodel Doutzen Kroes, who went viral for a long anti-vaccine post. In response to that controversial post, Bundchen put up a large comment backing Kroes, and said, "I can’t believe the hate being directed at her because she expressed her feelings."
The comment isn't the first time Bundchen has courted controversy. In February 2020, she was forced to apologize after comments about young models in a Vogue interview. Almost exactly a year later, she again made headlines, this time for a naked photoshoot for jewelry brand Vivara. In April 2020, she again made headlines after Brady revealed in an interview the couple was forced to seek therapy because Bundchen was unhappy with his schedule.

Tom Brady was in the news in early September, after he confirmed he was vaccinated along with the rest of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's unclear when he got the jab, but it would have come after he caught Covid-19 in February, after the Super Bowl 55 championship boat parade. Bundchen, on the other hand, has not publicly confirmed whether or not she is vaccinated.
Bundchen back Kroes, slams hate
The whole controversy began on September 17, after Kroes put up an Instagram post about the vaccine. "I will not be forced to take the shot. I will not be forced to prove my health to participate in society. I will not accept exclusion of people based on their medical status," she said. That post was met with a lot of support from several models, but none blew up as much as Bundchen's support.
On September 18, she commented, "I can’t believe the hate being directed at her because she expressed her feelings... Hate is not the answer." She added, "The only way we can create a better world is trough compassion and acceptance." Bundchen's post did not mention the vaccine, or Kroes' unwillingness to get jabbed. But the silence around that very topic appears strange. It also led many people to slam the model, as others had slammed Kroes. At the time of publication, Bundchen's comment had 4,811 likes and 1,545 comments.
Most of the comments on Bundchen's post appear to be in support, but a handful of users did slam her for supporting Kroes. "Peak rich people not caring about COVID or public health," one user slammed. Another commented, "woman for god's sake, will you defend anti-vaccine?" Another said, "shame! The world struggling to develop and produce vaccines and this is shameful little talk!" One user replied, "NO Gisele for God's sake, NO!!!"
Since Bundchen has never publicly commented on her vaccination status, it is hard to say if she is actually an anti-vaxxer. Her comment on Kroes post just appears to be her slamming the hate Kroes has received, but it appears social media has concluded she too is against the vaccine because of that support, and her strange silence.
