'Jane the Virgin' star Gina Rodriguez and husband Joe LoCicero welcome first child
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Gina Rodriguez has welcomed her first child with her husband Joe LoCicero, according to reports. Although the couple has not yet announced the baby's sex or name, Rodriguez was spotted taking a walk with the newborn in a carrier in Los Angeles, Page Six reported.
Rodriguez first announced her pregnancy in July 2022 via Instagram with a video that showed her and LoCicero holding a positive pregnancy test. "This birthday hits different," she wrote in the caption, referring to her birthday on July 30. "Anyone can want you, but love is different when someone actually values you," a voice narrates in the video.

Rodriguez and LoCicero met on the set of 'Jane the Virgin' in 2016
The duo’s former co-star Jaime Camil commented, “My heart is bursting for you two.” Rodriguez’s other celeb pals shared their support. “OH MY GOSH!!!!!! Congratulations! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍,” Jordin Sparks gushed, while Nikki Reed wrote, “Loving you big time Mama❤️.” That same day, LoCicero called Rodriguez his “goddess” via Instagram.
Rodriguez and LoCicero, who met on the set of 'Jane the Virgin' in 2016, have been very private about their pregnancy journey. In an interview with The Bump in January 2023, Rodriguez revealed that she had hired a doula to help her during childbirth. "I'm excited to have a doula to help guide me through this process," she said. "I think it's really important to have someone there who has done this before and can help me navigate everything," she further added.
'Three years of marriage to my dearest buddy'
In July 2018, LoCicero proposed to the Golden Globe winner and got engaged in July 2018, and eventually tied the knot in May of the following year. The couple's outdoor wedding was officiated by actor Justin Baldoni. Notably, Rodriguez posted adorable Instagram pictures in May 2022 to mark their third wedding anniversary.
She wrote at the time, "Three years of marriage to my dearest buddy. You're at home. Rodriguez is best known for her role as Jane Villanueva in the hit CW series "Jane the Virgin," which ran from 2014 to 2019. She has also starred in films like "Annihilation" and "Miss Bala." In a review by The Hollywood Reporter in January 2023, Rodriguez was praised for her performance in the new Netflix series 'Not Dead Yet'. "Rodriguez is always engaging onscreen, and she brings a lot of heart and soul to her role in this series," wrote critic Tim Goodman.
