BET reality show 'Baldwin Hills' star Gerren Taylor passed away on April 11. Taylor, whose real name is Ashley Taylor Gerren, reportedly died in her sleep. Although no cause of death has yet been revealed, sources speculated that the reality television star battled with lupus and was on dialysis during the time of her death.
Mayo Clinic describes lupus disease as one "that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs (autoimmune disease)". The star is survived by her only child, a six-year-old daughter, Miyoko.

Gerren Taylor gave birth to her daughter, Miyoko, on June 30, 2014. On Miyoko Amor aka Koko's fifth birthday, the 5'11-stunner wrote a sweet message on Instagram: "To my daughter I want you to believe deep in your heart that are you capable of achieving anything you put your mind to".
"That you will never lose you either win or learn just go forth and aim for the skies I can't promise to be here for the rest of your life but I can promise to love you for the rest of mine you make me so proud and mommy loves you unconditionally," the entrepreneur, who ran clothing companies called Hush Dollz and Miyoko's Closet, said in the ominous message.
Miyoko's Closet has its own Instagram page. The bio reads: "KIDS TRENDY BOUTIQUE🦄🚻 CASUAL CHIC 🍭 ((Specializing in Faux Fur Jackets For Children))👧🏻👧🏼👧🏾". It adds that the company was established in 2016. It also has a Shopify link where customers can browse clothing, handbags, jewelry and mini boxes for kids and moms.
'A young legend'
Fans and friends of Taylor's flooded social media with tributes shortly after the news of her death broke on April 12. Taylor's Baldwin Hills castmate Etienne Maurice tweeted pictures from better times, stating: "Queen Ashley “Gerren” Taylor, my sister, an LA legend. forever in our heart. rest in eternal peace. @_Moriahj and I prayed for your soul and your family today thinking about all the good times we shared." One fan took to Twitter to write: "I remember Gerren Taylor from Baldwin hills but before that she was the ONLY black girl on the pages in my teen vogue magazine! A young legend in her own right, may she rest in peace."
