'Disinterested' Gerard Piqué IGNORED Shakira’s social media posts, even those about him
Shakira and Gerard Piqué’s breakup is the current hot topic around the world. The Colombian singer and the Barcelona football star had been together for over a decade and are parents to two kids. In a joint statement, the former couple said, “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we ask for respect for privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
Several reports stated that the reason behind their split was infidelity as Shakira saw her former beau with someone else. But another report claimed infidelity was out of the question because the two were in an “open relationship”. A journalist named Jose Antonio Aviles reportedly said that the former couple’s relationship was like, “‘you do what you want and I'll do what I want,’ but they had to present themselves as a couple to the public.”

Aviles also added, as reported by the Latin Times, that “someone very very close to Pique has assured me that there was no infidelity on his part." There was "great surprise at the break-up and the statement that Shakira has sent."
Though nothing has been confirmed yet from both sides, it has been reported that Piqué’s disinterest towards the ‘Waka Waka’ singer was visible for quite some time, even on social media. The 35-year-old footballer apparently did not like or comment on several of Shakira’s Instagram posts even when they were about him and his achievements.
One such post was from March written in Spanish. After translating it in English, it read: “Gerard won't let me say these things publicly. But only he with his heroism can play like this, overcoming any injury or pain and always giving his best. It's not because he's my husband, but he's the best center back in the world. I said!”
Another lengthy post was also from March of this year that included a photo of Piqué as the caption said, “600 matches! I don't think he's ever done 600 concerts. Your achievements are unprecedented. History is a continuous present and you are here to continue forging yours, your club's, ours and that of future generations.”
“You are made of a material that only God knows and for me you are the best example of struggle, perseverance and sincerity for our children. These years with you I have realized that you came to this world to change paradigms. You have so much left to give us! In football and in so many other aspects of your extraordinary life; Because there is not, nor will there be another Gerard Piqué. An exceptional human being,” it added.
Not just that, Piqué also apparently ignored Shakira’s Valentine's day wish post that featured her smiling with the player. The caption of the social media share was “Happy Valentines Day! 💋Happy Valentine's Day!”
Besides these, in her new song ‘Te Felicito’, which is also sung by Rauw Alejandro, Shakira appeared to express the pain of her broken heart.
