American actor and musician George Segal died at the age of 87, due to complications from heart surgery. The shocking announcement was made by his wife, Sonia through Sony Television. The Long Island native is survived by Sonia and two children, Polly and Elizabeth Segal, his daughters with his first wife, Marion Segal Freed.

Segal married Freed in November 19, 1956, and the two divorced on June 2, 1983. Polly and Elizabeth are his only children, and he did not have any from his next two marriages to Linda Rogoff and Sonia Schultz Greenbaum.

As the family mourn's Segal's death, here's a look at his two children. Here's everything we know about Polly and Elizabeth.

Who are Polly and Elizabeth Segal?

Born on January 4, 1966, Polly is the youngest of the two Segal children. Polly followed her father's footsteps and entered the film industry as an actress. She is credited with two films on IMDb. In 1989, she made her big-screen debut with 'Weekend at Bernie's', with a cameo as a woman in an elevator. Then in 1995, she made another small cameo in 'The Feminine Touch', in which her father starred. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to have made it big in the industry and has no other film credits to her name.

In 2018, she reportedly married Michael Bruce Lemkin at the Carondelet House, an events space in Los Angeles. They reportedly met in 2011 through a Jewish dating platform, JDate. It is unclear what she is doing now, as there is no trace of her working in any films after 1995.

Even less is known about the senior daughter, Elizabeth. She was born in 1962. There is almost no information available about her beyond her birth year. We haven't been able to verify any of her social media profiles, with multiple listings for Elizabeth Segal on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Segal's personal life

Unlike Polly and Elizabeth, Segal's personal life isn't that big a mystery. He was born Goerge Segal Jr to Fannie Blanche Segal and George Segal Sr. Segal grew up in Great. Neck New York, where he was raised in a secular house despite being of Jewish origin. He did not have a bar mitzvah or attend a religious school. Instead, he studied at George School, a Quaker boarding school in Pennsylvania.

Segal was bit by the acting bug early on when he appeared in a play at the age of three. Of course, he was cast by his older brother, but that didn't take away the thrill of the experience. "My scene was one where this other kid strained to lift up a barbell.  Then I walked on – a little peanut – whisked up the barbell and walked off the stage.  I got a big laugh, and that was it for me," he told Jewish Journal

It was only up and above from there. He first got a gig as an understudy in a Broadway production of Eugene O’Neill’s “The Iceman Cometh". From there, he went on to grace the silver screen and the small screen, eventually making him something of a household name. He first married Marion Segal Freed, a film producer and screenwriter. After their divorce, he married Linda Rogoff in 1983. The two met at Carnegie Hall where Segal played banjo with his band. Rogoff died in 1996, leading him to marry Sonia Schultz Greenbaum the same year. The two met at George School and were classmates.
