'General Hospital' and 'Veronica Mars' actress Jaime Ray Newman and her husband Guy Nattiv welcomed their second daughter, Mila Nico Newman Nattiv, on October 3. Last year, the couple had their first daughter, Alma Ness.

Newman shared the news on Instagram, writing that she is celebrating "the first miracle of Hanukkah". Mila Newman was born at 25 weeks and three days via surrogacy, according to Newman's post.

The actress had previously undergone in vitro fertilization and had a long and trying road to have children. Newman endured multiple miscarriages and a stillborn daughter in 2013. For Alma and Mila, the actress turned to surrogacy.

Newman wrote in her post, "Exactly 80 days ago Mila Nico Newman Nattiv was born (709 g, 1 lbs. 9 oz) at 25 weeks and three days gestationally at the Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas via our brave surrogate."

She coupled the post with a collection of emotional photos of Mila and the family from the hospital. Newman credited Dr. Caren Lipsky of Sunrise Hospital for saving Mila's life and thanked doctors and nurses for getting Mila out of danger.

The actress also thanked friends and family, calling them the family's "strength and hope". She wrote, "Mila came home today, ending this stressful, exhausting journey and making us happy parents once again."

Newman's costars and fellow actors offered their wishes in the comments section under Newman's post.

Fellow Marvel actor Mike Colter wrote, "Miracles do happen," while Newman's 'Veronica Mars' colleague wrote, "These pictures made me cry then and they make me cry now. I already love her. So happy she's finally home!"

Newman had shared her experience of struggling to become a parent when she made the announcement about Alma's birth in September 2018.

She had written that after the stillbirth of their daughter and miscarriages, they had "lost hope". She had added, "But in life, there are also gifts that come to show you the concept of ups and downs."
