LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Game of Thrones' star Emilia Ckarke has decided to decline her fans' requests for photos because she was tired of being pestered to take selfies with them. If a fan runs into the actress at a public event, she will charge $180 for a group selfie. That's not all, the cost will rise in line with the fan's desire to speak with her. A brief conversation with the celebrity will cost $483. Only supporters who have planned ahead will be able to take pictures with the star from this point on. Emilia has made the decision to exclusively communicate with her followers on her terms at events going forward.

Earlier, in 2019, Emilia vowed not to take selfies with fans anymore after she was approached by a fan for a picture while having a panic attack. On an episode of the 'Table Manners' podcast, she revealed to host and singer Jessie Ware that she had started rethinking the best way to engage with her fans following the episode. She said, "I was genuinely walking through an airport and I suddenly started having what I can only believe to be a panic attack brought on by complete exhaustion. I was on my own. I was on the phone with my mom saying, ‘I feel like I can’t breathe. I don’t know what’s going on.'"

Emilia claimed that when her mother told her to sit down, she started crying. According to Daily Mail, she said, "I’m there and the tears are coming out. I’m crying and crying, this guy’s like, ‘Can I get a selfie?' And I was like, ‘I can’t breathe, I’m really sorry. Just have a minute.’ It was after a few moments like that where I was like, ‘I don’t know how to do this.'"

After the interaction, Clarke said she now plans to sign something for her fans instead of taking pictures with them, as she feels this was a more personal and less intrusive interaction. "When you do that, you have to have an interaction with that person, as opposed to someone just going, ‘Give us a selfie, goodbye.’ It turns into, 'what's your name? Who am I making it out to? Then you have a chat and you’re actually having a truthful human-to-human thing, as opposed to it being this other thing that probably isn’t nice for them and isn’t nice to you," she said.

As expected, fans were unhappy with these changes and took to social media to vent their anger. One person wrote on Twitter, "Even if I was one to care about pictures with famous people, no way in hell would I pay for it. We already "pay" them by watching their crap and buying related merchandise." "I understand the intrusion into your life can be a lot but people like #EmiliaClarke need to remember that they’re fame, money and privilege is built off fans. Fans must remember to respect personal space but charging for selfies is unwarranted," another added. Another 'former fan' blasted Emilia, saying, "What an entitled little princess she is! I wouldn’t pay two cents!" Someone hilariously wrote, "Fans don't have to pay for it. They could just photo-bomb someone else's snap! 😆" "One person pay, they all chip in and just photobomb it," yet another person remarked.
