Spoiler alert for Season 2B Episode 17

The residents of the Coterie have one too many issues to deal with. While a few of them are seen struggling on the professional end, the rest are deeply entangled in troubled relationships.

Episode 17 of ‘Good Trouble’ Season 2B begins with Alice Kwan (Sherry Cola) being subjected to a fangirl moment with Ruby, who she met at the cafe where Lindsay Brady (Rhea Butcher) was performing her stand up. Alice and Ruby click instantly and the former even convinces Sumi (Kara Wang) and Lindsay to go out, to stop anything from coming between her and Ruby.

Next thing we know, they are lying beside each other, naked. Although Ruby refuses to see Alice again, she offers her and Lindsay an opportunity to audition for the comedy bit in a diversity program. Unfortunately, there is only one spot open which means that Lindsay and Alice need to compete against each other.

Meanwhile, Callie Adams Foster (Maia Mitchell) has taken the blame on herself for what happened with Jared- a mentally unstable homeless man who breaks into Jamie Hunter’s (Beau Mirchoff) apartment during an episode and eventually gets moved from his makeshift home by the cops and vanishes into thin air.

Jared’s disappearance leaves Callie and Jamie divided as he believes that a lot of these people living in poverty with mental health do not want to be housed while Callie feels the government has failed to provide them with the help they deserve.

When Callie, with the help of Malika Williams (Zuri Adele), tries to trace down Jared, she learns that CC Hastings, who Jamie legally represents, has bought the property around a mental facility that could offer bedding for 3,000 patients with mental issues. She is devastated to learn that Jamie is complicit in the oppression of the destitute and begins to rethink the decisions she’s made in their relationship.

Meanwhile, Mariana Adams Foster's (Cierra Ramirez) is troubled by the recent manifesto that could jeopardize her position at Spekulate. Although Raj Patil (Dhruv Uday Singh) denies anything to do with the manifesto (except blurting it out to Alex in a drunken state), Evan Speck (TJ Linnard) tells Mariana that the email was sent by Raj and he used an encrypted account with multiple gateways to hide his identity.

It’s only a matter of time before the Foster sisters realize that they are probably being betrayed by the men they loved the most. Perhaps, that could help them come to grips with life in each other’s absence.

‘Good Trouble’ Season 2B airs on Wednesdays on Freeform.
