BRONX, NEW YORK CITY: The suspect, who allegedly threw his own feces on a Bronx commuter's face, reportedly joked with arresting officers that "s**t happens" and later told a judge, "F**k you, b***h!"

37-year-old Frank Abrokwa was apprehended on Monday, February 28, at his homeless shelter following the disgusting February 21 attack, police sources told the New York Post. However, the perp was freed without bail as the charges against him were reportedly not "bail eligible" under New York's bail reform laws.

“S**t happens. Haha. This is a s**tty situation. Haha,” Abrokwa joked to the cops upon his arrest, Bronx Assistant District Attorney Grace Phillips told the court during Abrokwa’s arraignment late Tuesday, March 1. Abrokwa reportedly also made a scene in Bronx Criminal Court because Brooklyn detectives arrested him for an unrelated crime from September.

“Why am I still here? I’m f**king tired of it. I’m hungry," Abrokwa was heard grumbling in the holding area before his appearance before Judge Wanda Licitra. He later appeared in the courtroom wearing a baseball hat emblazoned with the letters "USA" and a silk track jacket with covers of hip hop magazines printed on it, according to The Post. When Phillips requested an order of protection for the 43-year-old feces victim, Abrokwa told the judge, "I don't know that b***h," referring to the victim. He then pleaded with the judge if could "go with the Brooklyn detectives" and lashed out saying, “Why am I being mistreated by the system?” Abrokwa subsequently snapped at the jurist, saying, “I’m being respectful. I’m talking to my attorney. You’re talking to her. Not to me. F**k you, b***h.”

Licitra called the case at the point and had the suspect removed from the courtroom. He was brought back sometime later to continue the arraignment hearing, which lasted about 40 minutes. As mentioned, Abrokwa was freed without bail as his charges were not bail-eligible under the state's bail reform laws. This was after the prosecutors requested for him to be held on a $15,000 bond, or $5,000 cash.

Abrokwa was seen in horrifying video footage of the attack slapping a bag filled with his own feces in the victim's face, before rubbing it on the back of her head. The incident occurred when the victim was sitting on a bench at the Wakefield-241st Street subway station. Abrokwa reportedly approached the victim just before the attack and said, “Hey mami, how come you don’t want to talk to me?”, according to Phillips.

“The complainant did not engage with the defendant,” the ADA said. “Instead of taking the lack of engagement in stride, the defendant responded with violence. He walked into a nearby idling subway car and defecated in a bag. He then walked back to the complainant and repeatedly smashed the bag and left his feces in her face, head, neck, shoulders, and back area. She had feces in her eyes and hair. As he attacked, the defendant stated in sum and substance: ‘Like this, b***h?’” Phillips said the victim used her bag to shield herself. Nonetheless, she sustained a bleeding cut inside her lip and a swollen and red forehead.

Shortly after being released in the Bronx, Abrokwa was arrested in connection to the Brooklyn hate crime last year. On September 9, 2021, Abrokwa approached a 46-year-old man on Utica Avenue near Park Place in Crown Heights and threatened him, saying, "F**king Jew, I’m going to kill you." He subsequently spat on the victim's chest and tried to punch him, but fled the scene soon after, police said. Abrokwa was charged with harassment and menacing, both as hate crimes, in connection to that incident. Police sources told The Post that Abrokwa has 22 prior unsealed arrests dating back to 1999, aside from dozens of sealed arrests.
