BROOKLYN, NEW YORK: Police have finally arrested the man who was caught on camera kicking a woman down a New York subway escalator. The suspect was seen in footage of the incident drop-kicking a woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, in the chest after walking past her on the escalator. The victim was seen tumbling down the escalator and the man who attacked was seen walking out t suspect walks away from the scene.

Bradley K Hill, 32, was arrested on Friday, September 17, and charged with assault. He was filmed doing his perp walk while wearing a dark suit, an open-necked shirt, and a Nike face mask. MEAWW previously reported how the suspect was caught on camera on September 9 kicking a woman down the escalator of the Atlantic Avenue Barclays Center station in Brooklyn, New York.

Speaking to ABC 7 News earlier this week, the victim said the incident unfolded after she asked Hill to say "excuse me" after he pushed his way past her on the ride up the escalator. Hill reportedly responded by saying "I did" before kicking her in the chest. "He just kicked me out of nowhere," the victim said. "And I just came tumbling down the escalator, past everyone, all the way to the bottom floor."

Police noted that the victim sustained cuts and bruises to her back, arms, and legs, but refused medical attention at the scene. She told ABC 7 that the shocking encounter had left her traumatized. '"Say excuse me, that's the New York way,' and that was it," she said. "And then out of nowhere, he felt the need to have to kick me down the stairs. You know, as if I had the audacity to address him and tell him and say, 'Excuse me,' at that moment. He felt like he just had to kick me down."

Hill was subsequently charged with assault and attempted assault, but it's unclear if he's being held in jail or has been granted bail and released from custody.

That said, this is only the latest reported instance of violence in the New York City subway system. Just weeks ago, a New York father and his young daughter were spat on and threatened with a knife by a male passenger after the parent reportedly asked him to stop smoking marijuana on the train. NYPD released video from the September 5 incident, captured on a cellphone on a Manhattan D-Bound train in the Bronx earlier this month. The footage showed the suspect spitting on the 35-year-old father and his four-year-old daughter as they were seated a few feet away from the alleged pothead.

According to the New York Post, authorities reported 2.19 felony crimes per one million riders for the month of August relating to murder, rape, robbery, grand larceny, felony assault and burglary. The August statistic was a significant increase from 1.78 in July and 1.77 in June.

Earlier this week, cameras were installed in a city-wide effort to monitor subway crime and ensure the safety of commuters. "The number of arrests have dramatically increased. Part of that is directly attributable to cameras," MTA Chief Safety Officer Pat Warren told the Post. "You are not anonymous in the subway right now if you are out there trying to prey on our riders."
