Dagen McDowell: FOX News host slammed for saying she 'wouldn’t bang’ Beto O'Rourke
News host Dagen McDowell sparked outrage after saying she "wouldn't bang" Texas Democrat Beto O'Rourke, but could see why women would want to get down and dirty with Pete Davidson.
McDowell made the comments during an appearance on Fox News late-night show 'Gutfeld!' on Thursday, November 25, as she joined the show's host Greg Gutfeld, medical contributor Dr Marc Siegel and others for a discussion on the Texas gubernatorial race and Davidson’s penchant for dating famous Hollywood beauties. The guests were discussing a potential showdown between Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey, incumbent Republican Gov Greg Abbott, and O'Rourke when Gutfeld asked McDowell what she felt about the former El Paso mayor, Mediaite reported.

“I wouldn’t bang him,” McDowell said. “What about Davidson?” Dr Marc Siegel interjected. “I can explain the appeal of Davidson,” McDowell insisted. “He makes people laugh.”
'Saturday Night Live' star Davidson was most recently linked to Kanye West's ex Kim Kardashian. “Gentlemen: if you ever want to get in a girl’s britches, make em laugh,” McDowell added. Her comments echoed those of supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, who explained to Seth Meyers earlier this month why the SNL comedian was so lucky with the ladies. “He seems super charming,” Ratajkowski said. “He’s vulnerable. He’s lovely. His fingernail polish is awesome. He looks good!” Davidson has been tied to a wide-ranging list of Hollywood beauties from Cazzie David to Ariana Grande to Kate Beckinsale.
McDowell's comments, however, did not sit well with fans of O'Rourke, who excoriated the Fox host on social media.
"No one wants you to, especially not Beto O'Rourke. He's way, way out of your league, honey. He's got brains and personality--two things you are sorely lacking at best," one tweeted.
"You probably realized that your stupid remarks concerning Beta O'Rourke show your personal failings, not his. Very shallow," another wrote.
"Like he would ever let you anywhere near him," a comment read.
"And she joked about whether or not she’d have an affair with a happily married family man - pure trash content posing as Republican humor #NotRelevant #FakePatriots," someone else added.
"Hey, Dagen @dagenmcdowell - I'm sure Beto is quite happy to hear that since he has a beautiful wife with morals and class! You on the other hand, lack any class, and frankly, very few would want to bang you. Typical white trash @GOP!" another chimed in.

O'Rourke's announced his 2022 gubernatorial campaign just days ago, which comes after his failed attempt to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018 and his unsuccessful bid for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2020. Prior to his Senate and presidential runs, the 49-year-old served on the El Paso City Council from 2005 to 2012, before serving on Capitol Hill from 2012 to 2018 after being elected to represent the 16th Congressional District in West Texas in the House of Representatives. O'Rourke is now looking to defeat incumbent Gov Abbott in the upcoming race by poking on issues such as the controversial Texas abortion law.
A recent poll, however, showed that Hollywood star McConaughey is running ahead of both Abbott and O’Rourke if he chooses to run, the Dallas Morning News reported. McConaughey has not yet revealed whether he would run as a Democrat, Republican, or independent, according to the New York Post.
