'It's the healthiest thing for us': Ex-CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin files for divorce from James Fletcher after 5 years of marriage
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: According to recent court papers, Brooke Baldwin, a former CNN anchor, and British producer James Fletcher has filed for divorce. Baldwin, 43, filed for divorce on Thursday, February 9, in Manhattan Supreme Court.
In May 2018, Brooke Baldwin, 41, married English producer James Fletcher at Liberty Farms in New York. They apparently met at a holiday party and began dating for two years before getting engaged in 2017, according to a report by The US Sun.

Who is Brooke Baldwin?
American journalist, television host, and novelist Brooke Baldwin, born July 12, 1979, worked for CNN from 2008 until 2021. On weekdays, from 3 to 4 pm ET, Baldwin anchored CNN's Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin'.
MEAWW earlier reported Brooke Baldwin, an American journalist and television broadcaster, has worked with CNN since 2008. Baldwin announced her departure from the network on her show on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Baldwin announced her departure from CNN after 13 years in mid-April.
“The most influential anchors on our network, the highest-paid, are men. My bosses, my executives, are men. The person who oversees CNN Dayside is a man, and my executive producer for 10 years is a man. So I’ve been surrounded by a lot of men,” she said at the time. Baldwin announced her departure in February 2021, just a few months after being replaced for the month running up to the 2020 election by political anchor Jake Tapper.
During her time at CNN, Baldwin has reported from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. According to Variety, she rose to popularity at the network after relocating to New York in 2014 and taking over as host of two afternoon shows.

Baldwin took to her Instagram handle, according to The New York Post, to announce her split with Fletcher with a note, saying, “After nearly five years of marriage, with love and respect, James and I have decided to go our separate ways." She added, “Our time together has been some of the most precious, defining, and awakening years of my life. I wish him nothing but the best as he begins this new chapter.”
She further added, 'It's never easy to end a relationship with someone you love, but that does not always mean ending it is the wrong thing to do. There is nothing scandalous or salacious about this decision. We are simply two people who tried our best to make our union work, but ultimately realized our individual paths were taking us on different journeys and the healthiest thing for both of us is to honor that."
How did Brooke Baldwin meet James Fletcher?
They apparently met at a holiday party and began dating for two years before getting engaged in 2017. Baldwin invited him to New Orleans, where she was covering a New Year's Eve special for the network, and Fletcher accepted since they clicked right away, as reported by The US Sun.
At the time, she told her Instagram followers about the proposal writing: “Back from vacation. Turns out we went to Hawaii to celebrate more than just my birthday.. @jamesfletchernyc asked me to marry him! And I said YES!” The pair does not have any children.
Fletcher worked on the television documentary The Cameron Years, which was about former British Prime Minister David Cameron. In addition, he produced and directed the political documentary The Accidental President. The film, which stars his wife Brooke, shows how Donald Trump became president at a time when everyone predicted Hillary Clinton would win.
