Forbes' Highest Paid Entertainers 2022: Genesis at No. 1 while Taylor Swift is only female on list
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following their massive catalog sale from last fall, Genesis tops the list of Forbes ‘Most Paid Entertainers’ of 2022. The band, which features legendary musicians Phil Collins, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford has also had its value bolstered by revenues that came in from touring and streaming over the past year. The sale of their catalog for $300 million to Concord Music Group in September took them all the way to the top. Their revenue totals $230 million, with the money also including Collins’ individual work as a soloist.
Notably, the only female entertainer to be featured on the list was singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. She came in ninth place with $92 million in revenue, most of it stemming from album sales and streaming, with the release of her album 'Midnights'. It has also been forecast that Swift’s place in 2024’s list would also be imminent, what with her giant 'Eras' tour coming up.
