Episode 12 of 'For Life' titled 'Closing Statement' sees Aaron Wallace (Nicholas Pinnock) suffer further in the hands of the legal system, which is driven by the conviction of a powerful few.

Following the prison riot, which took the lives of many and left the rest severely injured, Safiya Masry (Indira Varma) is worried that everything she worked for will be buried because of 14 minutes of violence.

However, even before she could explain herself, the prison board brings in the stringent warden Cyrus Hunt (Chance Kelly) to take over Belmore until Masry gets to appear at the hearing.

Meanwhile, Aaron who is suffering from a concussion due to the blow on his head which he sustained from the violence, is determined to get to the court for his last chance at re-trial.

The District Attorney officials enlist Hunt's help in ensuring Aaron doesn't make it to the court and expose their wrongdoings ahead of the upcoming elections.

The latest episode of 'For Life', besides shedding light on the consequences of a wrongful conviction, also focuses on the impact of prison politics and bureaucratic issues on innocent lives.

It is Aaron who suffers the most in the battle of power, while all he wants is justice. 'Closing Statement' also showcases several heart-wrenching moments through Aaron's constant juggling between prisons owing to the conflict of interest between wardens and his determination to seek justice despite facing an unimaginable amount of resistance from various bodies.

Also, the latest episode establishes a strong bond between Masry and Aaron as she stands defiant against the prison board to help Aaron appear at the court despite all the obstacles in her way.

'Closing Statement', unlike previous episodes, saw Aaron come close to winning his case and also teased a possible strike from Gelb Maskins (Boris McGiver) which will determine the former’s fate. It’s either freedom or imprisonment of a lifetime for Aaron and a matter of reputation and risked career for Maskins.

As the two ultimate forces finally come together, we can't wait to know who is going to emerge winner in this legal fight of years which has caused enough damage.

‘For Life’ Season 1 will conclude on May 12 with 'Fathers'.
