'How is he even alive?': Internet shocked as Flavor Flav reveals he spent $2600 a day on crack

During the podcast, Flavor Flav revealed that he was spending a huge amount of money for six years straight while struggling with addiction

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Rap icon Flap Flav revealed that for six years straight he spent $2,600 on cocaine every day and social media is puzzled at his daily spending to support his addiction. The rapper whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr. talked about his addiction during the podcast 'Off the Record' with DJ Akademiks. “There was a time that I was spending $2,400 to $2,600 a day, for six years straight … you do the math. That’s how much I spent on drugs,” he said.

The hypeman said, “I ain’t gonna lie, I sold a lot — but I was my best customer,” and added, “I had a lot of money at the time, I was just doing the wrong things with my money.” During his appearance on the podcast, he said that God helped him through his addiction which would further help him to warn other drug users and guide them to live a proper life.

The hip-hop legend recently shared on social media his hard-earned sobriety of two years and said that he is "very proud." He said, “Guess what? I am two years no cigarettes, two years no alcohol. You know what? I feel real good, y’all, just to let you know."

"And you know what? I’m gonna do this another maybe 22 more years,” said the 63-year-old 'Fight the Power' MC and added, “I don’t know. But right now, I’m working on one year at a time, folks.”  

'Wish I was his guy'

Puzzled at the Public Enemy rapper revealing his drug addiction and the amount of money he had spent every day, social media found it unbelievable regarding his spending and his health condition. One social media user wrote, "How is he even alive at this point?," while another wrote, "How do u smoke that much crack in a day? Flavor Flav is superhuman."

"Wish I was his guy!!," a user wrote and someone remarked, "Crack makes you love clocks."

How much did Flav spend on crack per year?

Spending $2,600 a day amounts to yearly spending of about $949,000 per year. According to Nerdwallet's financial whizzes, an average person's annual spending on expenses is about $40,859.

One user tweeted, "Supposed to impress us or cause idolizers to run out and waste money on some blow?" while another wrote, "No way this is true that's almost a million dollars a year."

"That money could have been used to help people in need," a user opined and someone remarked, "Sad his friends nor anyone else tried to help him off his addiction. Shows how drugs lead to self-destruction that the lesson here," while another wrote, "all the wrong people are given money."
