Joanna Gaines shares an adorable picture of her daughters snuggling with their little baby brother Crew
Joanna and Chip Gaines daughters are already taking their role as big sisters seriously! The mom of five took to Instagram to share an adorable picture of her daughters, Ella and Emmie taking turns to cuddle with their baby brother, Crew. The picture showed Crew relaxing on a hammock with his sister cuddling with him one by one. She captioned the picture as 'taking turns'. Seems like Joanna has got all the help that she needs now.
The Fixer Upper stars welcomed the latest addition to their family on June 23. Chip took to his Twitter to announce the good news to his fans. "And then there were 5... The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger!" he tweeted. "10 beautiful toes and 10 beautiful fingers all accounted for, and big momma is doing great!"
Little did people know that Chip had hinted at the name of the baby in the tweet. Soon after he announced on Twitter, Joanna took to her Instagram to share an adorable picture of their baby. “Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love,” she captioned the picture which showed Joanna looking at her son lovingly who was nestled in a blanket.
“He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early — which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful," she added. Previously, fans had expected the pair would name their son with the letter D, in keeping with the family tradition. The couple also have two daughters and sons, Duke, and Drake.
While the girls get a name from "E", the boys of the family get a name from "D". However, it looks like the fifth time around the new parents were looking for a little bit of a change in tradition. Talking to People, Joanna even spoke about how she felt when she found out she was pregnant for the fifth time. "I had been feeling a little emotional and crazy and thought 'Wow, this isn't me," she said.
"Then all of a sudden I realized, 'Hey, I remember this.' When I saw the results of the test, my jaw dropped. Chip was in the driveway about to leave when I called him back and said, 'We're pregnant!'" She added, "When we were done, we had no plan like, 'Let’s have a baby no. 5.' It was a total surprise. But when we found out, it solidified that it was the right decision to leave when we did."
However, when she heard the good news, she looked at it humorously as she suggested she was going to be 'that 45-year-old who's pregnant.' She said: "Chip is such a kid at heart and we both love a big family. I’m open to whatever. I’m just having fun with it."
