'Wtf was that!' Fans upset over ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's 'unsatisfying' cliffhanger ending

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Marvel and Sony have done wonders when it comes to ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ and the character development of Miles Morales. This superhero flick featured some of the best animation and an array of different characters amongst plenty of other things. As the run time of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ reached its end, fans found themselves wondering what was next as they were left angry and frustrated. 

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ ended on a major cliffhanger, and that’s when fans realized that while there will be another installment, but it won’t be out for a while. The cliffhanger ending really had everyone gripping their seats, but left fans bitter as ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ concluded. Fans have taken to the internet to express their thoughts about the "unsatisfying" ending. 

'Movie of the year, but still pissed about the ending'

Landing the perfect ending for any movie or series is a tough one, and ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is no exception to this norm. As the movie concluded on a major cliffhanger, it left everyone with far too many unanswered questions and loose ends. One fan wrote, “#SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse MOVIE OF THE YEAR but still pissed about that ending,” So while they appreciated the whole movie, the ending simply didn’t make the perfect landing for fans. Another fan tweeted, "Just finished it, great character work but a very unsatisfying cliffhanger ending. Miles, Gwen, Miguel & Spot were great though. Miles’ parents were great too #SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse.”  On the same line of thought, about loving the movie, but not the ending, a fan wrote, “#SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse That movie was incredible. Really topped off the first one by a lot, the chase, the animation, the music. It was all beautiful. I personally dislike the ending but nonetheless, it was a ride. Honestly go watch it in your cinemas. Worth it 💯”

‘Ending made me angrier than GOT Season 8'

Spider-Man fans have also taken the liberty to compare the emotions they felt during this ending, to other popular finales as one tweeted, "#SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse was a fantastic movie who’s ending made me angrier than Game of Thrones Season 8.” Fans continue to remain in disbelief and denial with Miles’ character not getting closure as a fan writes, “What kind of ending was that ?!? I thought the movie was just getting started 😭😭 #SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse.” One fan managed to sum up what the entire divided fandom was feeling in regard to the ending of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ as they tweet, "No spoilers but very good movie. As for the much-discussed ending, either you will love it...or you will HAAAATTEEEEEE it!!! #SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse.” But of course, if that doesn’t sum up your feelings then this fan’s tweet will as they write, “#SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse  YO WTF WAS THAT ENDING.”
