'Get out of the sun': Fans slam Teddi Mellencamp for posing on beach after surgeries to remove melanoma
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave, a reality TV star and member of the cast of the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills', recently opened up about her experience with skin cancer. In March 2022, while exercising with a co-star, she was told that one of the spots on her back looked different and had a black dot in the middle. This prompted her to visit a dermatologist, who confirmed it was melanoma, a type of skin cancer.
Over the next eight months, Mellencamp had to undergo two surgeries to remove a total of 12 melanomas at various stages and sizes, as well as three lymph nodes to see if the cancer had spread. Recently, Teddi Mellencamp shared pictures of herself enjoying the sun at a beachside resort. The post was filled with concerned fans who criticized the Bravo star for not taking care of herself during the melanoma scare.

The Instagram post included a motivational caption and showed her in a bikini looking relaxed against the backdrop of a beach. Considering her fight with skin cancer, fans immediately responded to the picture with concern and criticism.
One user commented: “Preach girl!!!!! You’re beautiful !!!! But from one melanoma girl to another please keep out of that sun or stay covered up… sadly sunscreen isn’t enough just helps!!” Others simply wanted Mellencamp to get out of the sun and said, “Get out of the sun!!!”
After some of her followers were accused of hating her, one user commented that the criticism was only out of concern for her and said, “No one is hating her. They are concerned for her. Melanoma is not a joke. She needs to be covered in the sun. That coverup is too sheer. She needs the kind that really protect you. Not as attractive but her health is priority.”
Considering the nature of the reactions, there is little doubt that the comments were made out of concern, and not hatred. One user said, “I would be staying out of that sun or carrying a very large umbrella over me. Stay safe, stay healthy!”
Other fans simply wanted to know how she was and whether her condition was better. Other reactions include, "LOVE that saying", "Love. Your b\w prada would totally go with this outfit too!!", and "Lookin good girl! Glad your up and around and feeling good." Fans are simply be hoping that Mellencamp does not develop further problems despite the lack of precautions.
