Fans have shared their excitement after it was announced that a ten-episode reboot of ‘Criminal Minds’ is in the works following an agreement between Paramount+ and ABC Signature and CBS Studios in February 2022. The crime drama series, which ran successfully for years since its premiere in 2005, aired its final episode in early 2020. The revival will bring back the original cast except two.

As per reports, Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, Paget Brewster, Kirsten Vangsness, AJ Cook, and Adam Rodriguez will again be seen in the show. But Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney are letting go of their roles as Spencer Reid and Matthew Simmons respectively. Gubler has reportedly decided to move on while Henney has some other work commitments. It has been said that filming for the reboot will start on August 21 in Los Angeles.

'Criminal Minds' premiered on CBS in 2005 and ran for 16 seasons. The procedural chronicled fictional cases of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) and featured elite psychological profilers chasing devious serial killers. The show's initial cast went through multiple changes over the years.

Mandy Patinkin, who initially led the show as Senior Supervisory Special Agent Jason Gideon, pulled out after two seasons. He said later in an interview, "The biggest public mistake I ever made was that I chose to do Criminal Minds in the first place. I thought it was something very different. I never thought they were going to kill and rape all these women every night, every day, week after week, year after year. It was very destructive to my soul and my personality." After Patinkin's exit, Joe Mantegna entered the show as David Rossi, the new head of the BAU.
