'Family Food Fight': Release date, plot, cast, trailer, news and everything you need to know about ABC's high-pressure cooking competition

Buckle up folks, as ABC is going to spice your Thursday nights with a brand new TV show titled 'Family Food Fight'. 

Adapted from the OG Australian reality competition television series that ran for two seasons from October 2017 to December 2018, 'Family Food Fight' is a high-pressure cooking competition that is inspired by real home cooking and family food traditions to win an ultimate prize. After being picked up by ABC, the series revealed that season one will have eight episodes. 

While the premiere is right around the corner, here's everything you need to know about the new series:

Plot

Hosted by Ayesha Curry, 'Family Food Fight' will feature eight families showcasing their best culinary skills. The forthcoming series digs into the families' diverse cultural heritage and will take home cooking to a new level as teams compete with their most prized family recipes. Along with host and judge Curry, the families will also have to impress Cat Cora and Graham Elliot who are world-renowned chefs, authors, restaurateurs, and television personalities. The family that wins will take home $100,000.

Cast 

'Family Food Fight' season one will feature eight families who will battle against each other to be the last one standing. The eight families competing this season are the Livanos Family, the Maniya Family, the Min Family, the Nichols Family, the White Family, the Graves Family, theLenzi Family, and the Lee Family. The first episodes will feature four families each and the three families who impress the judges the most will move on to the next round.

Executive Producer 

Ayesha Curry 

Ayesha Curry serves as the executive producer, host, and judge of 'Family Food Fight' season one. Curry is a chef, restaurateur, New York Times best-selling author and television host. She was recently named one of the newest faces of Covergirl cosmetics, and she was also featured on Forbes Magazine's prestigious 30 Under 30 list. Curry's career in the television industry bloomed after she had her own cooking show on Food Network titled, 'Ayesha’s Home Kitchen'.

Trailer 

Prior to 'Family Food Fight' premiering, the series recently released a trailer. The trailer features Curry, Elliot, Cora along with the other families. Starting off, we witness Curry talking about the series and explaining what it is about. "Family Food Fight is a competition game show series where families of three go head to head and battle to become America's no 1 food family," Curry begins. The trailer then cuts to the next scene where we can see the other families, sitting by the table along with the judges, while they taste and give their comments on their cooking. 



 

Following that Curry goes on to introduce the judges and families in the background, while we get to see the contestants in the midst of the competition. Overall the trailer gives us a sneak peek as to what we can expect from the series and what is about to go down in the kitchen.
